Summary

Brian Paget joined The Action Network in 2024 as an NHL analyst and editor. He comes from a more traditional sports journalism background, but has had lots of success handicapping NHL games since he began in 2023. While Paget hadn't written betting-specific stories before joining Action, he has previously written for major sports media platforms such as Yahoo Sports.

Experience

Paget put his NHL expertise to the test in 2023 when he began handicapping games. His knowledge of analytics and feel for the game paid immediate dividends. Since then, he has been writing single-game guides and unique columns for Action's NHL vertical. In addition, he is a general editor for the site.

Before joining Action, he attended NFL training camps and MLB games while covering a wide variety of topics as a reporter for Yahoo Sports.

Education

Paget will graduate from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in June of 2024.

Betting Highlights
Favorite Bet of All-Time
Took Sam Darnold to score the New York Jets' first touchdown at extremely long odds before their Thursday Night Football game against the Denver Broncos back in 2020. Needless to say, Darnold opened the scoring with a highlight-reel 46-yard touchdown scamper to give the Jets their first lead of the season... in Week 4.
Most Heartbreaking Bet
Had multiple futures on the Florida Panthers to win the 2023 Stanley Cup. After a miraculous run during which they took down a historically good Boston Bruins team in overtime of Game 7, the Panthers lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in five games in the Cup Final.
