Bio

Justin Perri is freelance baseball writer at Action Network. Aside from contributing to Action Network's baseball vertical, he works full time as a basketball and baseball analyst at ShotQualityBets.

Experience

Justin learned about sports betting in 2021. Prior to that he operated his own high end tutoring business. As a tenured fantasy football player, Justin found the transition logical after he joined a sports betting discord hosted by CBS Sports Expert Personality Mike McClure and learned how various sports modeling techniques worked. Justin then created his first model, which produced his own expected probabilities for college basketball games. His model went 14-0 against the spread in the second round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament which prompted CBS Sports to hire him at the advice of McClure. Justin joined the CBS SportsLine team in April of 2022 and featured regularly on their daily show The Early Edge, even making a cable network appearance during Super Bowl week of 2023. Following a successful endeavor at ShotQuality, Justin has been freelancing at PitcherList writing fantasy baseball articles. He has also launched his own betting podcast, the "Justin Perri Show", runs his own Discord channel and appears as a guest on a variety of shows.

Education

Justin graduated from Hamilton College with a degree in Physics.

Betting Highlights
Favorite Bet of All-Time
The First Sunday of March Madness in '22, after I had gone 6-0 on Saturday, I shared all of my model's plays with a disclaimer that there was no way I would get them all right again... I did. The 8-0 day launched my career and I've never looked back.
Most Heartbreaking Bet
There was a CBB game this year that featured a player who at the very end of the game, jokingly put home a dunk that caused the Under to lose. Nobody defended him and he was basically joking around, but he flushed it home at the very last moment and I lost. It was Jacksonville vs ULM and it actually got featured on Bad Beats with SVP.
