The Pacers have an injury report that’s a mile long but one of the biggest beneficiaries is going to be Bennedict Mathurin. Mathurin started off the season playing inconsistent minutes but Rick Carlisle has been forced to play him 30+ minutes for the last six games. During those games he has averaged 24.2 points with monster games against the Knicks (38) and the Celtics (30). Without Nembhard he truly sees his Usage climb. Tonight, he gets a tough matchup against the Orlando Magic; however, Jalen Suggs tweaked his ankle yesterday so we have to see if that impacts him at all today and Mathurin just scored 20 against the Magic about a week ago where he only took 7 FGA but that’s deceiving considering he got to the line at will with 14 free throw attempts. It was also a game featuring 31 minutes of Nembhard, who will not play tonight. Mathurin did score just 5 points in 13 minutes against Orlando back in October; however, that was an entirely different Pacers’ rotation. I like him to exceed 18.5 points tonight.
