Let's dive into my Spurs vs. Thunder predictions and NBA picks for Wednesday, October 30.
Spurs vs. Thunder Prediction
My pick: Thunder -13.5
We know the Thunder are better than the Spurs. While Oklahoma City is a championship contender, the Spurs are closer to the beginning of their rebuild than the end. The Thunder have won all three of their games this season and none of them have been close. They are laying a lot of points here, but have won games this season by 15, 19 and 24. They are that good.

Spread
The sizeable spread indicates a strong belief that the Thunder will win this game, and why shouldn't that be the case? Not only are they the better team, but they're at home. Victor Wembanyama is a tough cover, but so is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and from top to bottom, the Thunder have a significantly better and deeper roster. It's early, but their smallest margin of victory this season is 15 points, and that came on Opening Night at Denver.
Moneyline
If for some reason you feel like the Spurs are primed to pull off the upset, this is a great bet. Conversely, there isn't much profit to be made by picking the Thunder.
Over/Under
If each team scored its season average this number would push. However, there's a very real chance the under hits, especially if the Thunder can lock down the Spurs.
My pick: Thunder -13.5

Spurs vs. Thunder NBA Preview
San Antonio is leaving the state of Texas for the first time this season after accumulating a 1-2 record with a win vs. Houston sandwiched between losses to those very same Rockets and the Dallas Mavericks.
Things have gone about as you’d expect, with Victor Wembanyama filling up the box score and averaging 20 points, 12 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.7 block per game. He is coming off a 20-rebound performance, but is struggling from 3, making just 4-of-18 attempts.
While Wembanyama's offensive numbers may be a bit underwhelming, the Spurs are getting a great start from Jeremy Sochan. The third-year forward is averaging 19 points, nine rebounds and three assists per game while shooting 52.3% from the field.
The Spurs have one of the league’s lower offensive ratings, but do have two other players averaging in double figures in Julian Champagnie (11.7) and Harrison Barnes (10.0). Keldon Johnson and Malaki Branham are each chipping in 9.7 points per game, while veteran Chris Paul is adding 7.3 points to go along with a team-best 6.7 assists per contest.
The Spurs, because of Wembanyama, are fourth in the NBA in rebounds per game. On the flip side, they turn the ball over more per game than just two other teams and are third from the bottom in 3-point attempts.
Going into the season the Thunder were expected to be among the league’s best, and through three games they certainly look the part. They have won all three games by an average of 19.4 points, with blowout victories on the road at Denver and Chicago and a comfortable home win over Atlanta.
They are being led by Gilgeous-Alexander, who is averaging 28.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists and three steals per game. He is shooting 45% from the field and making 30% of nearly eight 3-point attempts per game.
While Gilgeous-Alexander is the headliner, Chet Holmgren has also grown into a star. The No. 2 overall pick from the 2022 draft has started his second season by averaging 23.7 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks and three assists per game. The 7-foot-1 mismatch is making just 20% of his five 3-point attempts per game, but hit on 37% from deep last season, so that average should come up.
The Thunder are getting 18.7 points per game from Jalen Williams, 10.7 from Aaron Wiggins and 9.3 from Luguentz Dort. The Thunder are attempting nearly 39 3s per game and making close to 11.
