Timberwolves vs. Trail Blazers Prediction, Picks for Tuesday, Feb. 13
Here's everything you need to know about Timberwolves vs. Trail Blazers on Tuesday, Feb. 13 — our expert prediction and betting picks for today.
The Timberwolves will travel from Los Angeles up to Portland to take on the Trail Blazers on a back-to-back. Will Minnesota take care of business or will it play down to this lowly Blazers squad?
Let's get to our Timberwolves vs. Trail Blazers prediction and pick.
Timberwolves vs. Trail Blazers Prediction
Pick: Trail Blazers Team Total Under 103.5
This is a nightmare matchup for a Blazers team down multiple key players and shooters. The Timberwolves are not a defense you want to play if you can’t space the floor, as Rudy Gobert will completely eliminate the rim for your offense.
Portland's current rotation is almost completely devoid of effective catch-and-shoot shooters, as Jerami Grant is the only reliable scorer in the lineup right now. Portland ranks 11th in offensive rim rate on the season and dead last in FG% at the rim (58.5%). That will be an extreme weakness versus extreme strength considering the Timberwolves' defense allows the fourth-lowest rate of rim attempts and the fourth-lowest FG% at the rim.
Expect the Blazers' offense to be supremely inefficient here.

For the other side of the ball, the Timberwolves should be able to bully this Blazers defense in the paint, as Portland ranks 28th in opponent rim rate allowed. Outside of Deandre Ayton, the Blazers lack quality bigs in their rotation. Portland is playing quality wing defenders in Matisse Thybulle and Toumani Camara major minutes but the Blazers are mostly bereft of defense at the rest of their positions.
Expect a solid performance from the Timberwolves' offense here.

The Timberwolves will be able to dominate defensively, so I will be playing the Blazers to go under their team total here.
This is a back-to-back for Minnesota, so monitor the injury report before placing any bets, but I feel fairly confident in its defense as long as Gobert is able to go. I’d take the Trail Blazers team total under 103.5 and play it down to 102.
