NFL Week 1 rolls into Friday Night Football, which features the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers in the Brazil game.
The Chargers didn't add much to their offense over the offseason, which means we should expect a heavy dose of Justin Herbert connecting with sophomore wide receiver Ladd McConkey in 2025.
I expect McConkey to play a prominent role in this intriguing AFC West matchup — find my NFL prop bet for him below.
NFL Prop Bets: Ladd McConkey
Friday night should be a good one. The Chiefs have seven straight wins against the Chargers, but all but one of those have come by one score — including wins by one, two, three (twice) and another win in overtime.
This should be competitive all the way and that means L.A. finding enough offense to keep up. That almost certainly means Ladd McConkey producing.
The Chiefs ranked bottom 10 by DVOA against WR1s last season. Eleven straight WR1s had at least 48 yards against Kansas City to close out the regular season, even in a 15-2 campaign. Over half of them hit 70 yards, and they averaged 72, so that's right at this number.
McConkey is no average receiver, though.
He was outstanding as a rookie and even better late as he got into a rhythm with Justin Herbert.
McConkey had at least 83 yards in six of his final seven games, pacing for nearly 1,600 yards over a full season for that stretch and averaging just under 100 yards per game.
If we get last year's slick Brazil field and the possibility of big plays, that can only help.
Give me Ladd McConkey over 70.5 receiving yards.
Editor's Note: The line has since moved to 71.5 or 72.5, depending on the book.
