After dropping the first two games of the series, the Brewers bounced back with a tight 5-4 victory last night over the Dodgers. However, Mookie Betts will look to help the Dodgers claim the series in a battle of first place teams this afternoon.
Meanwhile, Rafael Devers and Marcus Semien are a pair of hitters that I will be backing in the evening slate. Let's dive into my Thursday MLB player props.
Alex Hinton's MLB Player Props for Thursday, August 15
- Mookie Betts Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105, BetMGM)
- Rafael Devers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105, DraftKings)
- Marcus Semien Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (+100, DraftKings)
MLB player prop bets and MLB prop bets are becoming increasingly popular among bettors. These wagers focus on individual player performances, such as runs, home runs, and strikeouts, adding excitement by allowing bettors to target specific player statistics rather than just game outcomes.
Dodgers vs. Brewers Player Props: Bet On Betts To Stay Hot
Shohei Ohtani is a heavy favorite to win NL MVP at -2100 on FanDuel entering the day. His biggest competition may have come from his own teammate had Mookie Betts not landed on the injured list. Betts began the season on a torrid pace and he has done the same in his first three games back in the lineup.
On Monday, Betts hit a two-run home run in his second at-bat on his way to a two-hit night. Betts is 6-for-14 with three runs scored and three RBI in this series. He has two hits in all three games in this series and in the process, he has had two total bases in all three games as well.
Betts and the Dodgers face rookie right-hander Tobias Myers, who has dazzled of late with a 1.66 ERA in his last four starts, including 7 1/3 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts against the Reds last Saturday. However, Myers has a 3.76 ERA in day games compared to 2.11 in night games. Additionally, facing the Dodgers is a bit of a tougher task compared to facing the Reds.
Betts may only need one extra base hit to record two bases and batting second will give him four or five opportunities in this day. If he has another two-hit game, you can back him at +185 on FanDuel.

Red Sox vs. Orioles Player Props: Devers To Continue To Trend Upward
Rafael Devers enters tonight's game with hits in seven of his last 10 games. An interesting trend over that stretch is Devers having recorded two total bases in every other game. With only a single last night, he last hit this line on Tuesday, which would mean Thursday's game would continue the trend. More importantly is his matchup tonight against Zach Eflin.
Lifetime, Devers is 6-for-13 (.462) against Eflin with three runs batted in and a 1.615 OPS. Five of the six hits have gone for extra bases with three doubles and two home runs. Devers has seen a lot of Eflin over the last two and a half years with Eflin being in Tampa Bay and he remains in the AL East following his trade to the Orioles. Devers is also familiar with Oriole Park at Camden Yards as he is a lifetime .291 hitter with five doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, 37 runs batted in, and .849 OPS in Baltimore.
While Devers loves hitting in Boston, he has a hit in seven of his last eight road games with two total bases in six of them. Considering his track record in Baltimore and against Eflin, I expect that trend to continue tonight.

Twins vs. Rangers Player Props: Target Semien's HRR Line
Speaking of Boston, the Rangers were able to salvage their series against the Red Sox with a five-run comeback last night. Marcus Semien had a hit in all three games in the series to go along with two runs scored and two runs batted in. He cleared this line in two of those games.
With a hit in four of his five games, Semien returns home for a matchup with Bailey Ober that he has dominated. In his career, Semien is 5-for-9 with a double and two solo home runs against Ober. Like Myers, Ober has been great of late as he has a 1.29 ERA over his past four starts. However, his ERA in both road (4.13) and night (4.15) starts is over a run higher compared to home and day game starts.
The Rangers are averaging 5.1 runs over their past five games and Semien has been a factor at the top of the lineup. With this line being plus odds, I prefer Semien’s HRR line over his total bases. He could cash with a RBI single.
