The New York Yankees (70-50) and Chicago White Sox (29-91) continue their three-game series on Tuesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field. First pitch is set for 8:10 p.m. ET on the YES Network and NBC Sports Chicago.
Entering Tuesday a half-game behind the Baltimore Orioles for first place in the AL East, the Yankees are looking to rebound from a surprising drubbing, as the lowly White Sox busted out for 12 runs in a double-digit victory on Monday night.
Yankees at White Sox on Tuesday will feature a pitching matchup that pits Nestor Cortes against Jonathan Cannon. Cortes was thumped by the Los Angeles Angels in his last outing while Cannon enters in fine form, allowing just four runs over his last three outings (19 innings).

Kevin Rogers' New York Yankees vs Chicago White Sox Preview
The Bronx Bombers were annihilated by the White Sox in Monday's series opener, 12-2, marking New York's fourth loss in the last six games.
What made matters worse was New York closed as a hefty -340 favorite. It was New York's third loss as a -200 favorite or higher in the past week.
Cortes may be the highest favorite in a long time who owns 10 losses on the season, as the Yankees are as high as -300 at Caesars this morning.
The southpaw didn't escape the fifth inning in his last start against the Angels, yielding six runs in a 9-4 home defeat. The only good news for Cortes is he saw success against the Sox earlier this season at home by allowing one run in seven innings of a 4-2 win in May.
Cortes has finished under his strikeout total in four of his past five trips to the mound, but opposing left-handed starters against Chicago are 5-1 to the over on their last six strikeout props.
The Yankees are 9-0 to the over since July 22 in a game after they trailed through five innings.
The Yankees are 4-1 in their previous five games off a loss in a series opener, and all four wins came by three runs or more.
The White Sox are on the verge of 30 wins this season, which is unheard of in mid-August. Chicago scored a total of five runs at New York when the Sox were swept by the Yankees, but they busted out for 12 runs on Monday, which included a six-run outburst in the seventh inning.
The last time the Sox won consecutive games was in late June against the Rockies. Chicago will try for back-to-back victories under new manager Grady Sizemore.
Cannon hasn't allowed more than two runs in three consecutive starts, while giving up one run or less in six outings this season.
The right-hander was winless in four straight starts prior to beating the Athletics as a +165 underdog his last time out, which also snapped Chicago's hefty 21-game losing streak.
Cannon has already picked up a pair of huge home underdog victories this season against the Rays and Astros, but Chicago hasn't won consecutive starts made by the 24-year-old this season.
Yankees vs White Sox Prediction: F5 Over/Under
In spite of Cortes' recent struggles, this could be a get-right spot for him considering he shut down the White Sox earlier this season.
Also, coming off the embarrassing effort last night, the Yankees should be motivated for a better performance.
Cannon has looked good of late, so this is a spot where I see a lower-scoring game early.
Moneyline
There's no justification to lay the wood with the Yankees here. Meanwhile, Chicago is hard to trust to win any games at this point, especially on back-to-back nights.
Run Line (Spread)
10 of the last 13 losses for Chicago have come by two runs or more, so even taking the +1.5 hasn't worked for this Sox team.
In New York's last seven victories, the Yankees have won on the run line only three times.
With poor numbers on each side, the run line is a pass.
Over/Under
The White Sox are 4-1 to the over this season after scoring eight or more runs. They've gone 7-2 to the over in the past nine home contests. The Yankees have hit the over in five consecutive starts made by Cortes and five of the past six away from the Bronx.
