The Detroit Tigers fell to the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday, but they look to even up the series on Wednesday.
It was the 60th win of the season for the Guardians, who hold a five-game lead in the AL Central.
It'll be Jack Flaherty on the mound for the Tigers, potentially his last for the team before next Wednesday’s deadline, up against Tanner Bibee for the Guardians.
The market makes Cleveland a -150 favorite on the moneyline, with the total set at 7.

Many trade rumors are floating around the Tigers organization, given that the team is not competing for a playoff spot for the remainder of the season. Hot trade commodities, including Flaherty and Tarik Skubal, lie within their starting rotation.
Flaherty has been solid for the Tigers in 2024. He enters Wednesday's start with a 3.13 ERA and 0.96 WHIP.
Everyone knew Flaherty could live up to his potential in St. Louis, but he could never stay healthy. He certainly can help any playoff rotation, and his price tag will be cheaper than ace Tarik Skubal’s.
It’s a tough matchup for Flaherty, who is facing one of the best offenses in the AL. However, Flaherty has faired well against the Guardians, holding them to a .233 batting average over 60 lifetime at-bats.
The Tigers offense is batting .286 lifetime against Bibee, so there’s a chance they could scrap a few runs across early. But the team is bottom-10 in batting average, and it’s tough to predict whether or not their offense will show up.
Flaherty should do well tonight, but I have no faith in the Tigers’ bats, especially against one of the best bullpens in baseball.
Bibee has been a staple of the Guardians rotation, but he is not producing numbers like a true ace. His 3.58 ERA and 1.11 WHIP are respectable but still vulnerable.
Luckily for the Bibee, he draws a good matchup against the Tigers. They’ve done some damage against him, but their offense is far too inconsistent to predict how they will fair night in and night out.
The Guardians' offense also has its hands full against Jack Flaherty despite their generally great offensive production. We all know how good they’ve been all season, but I still believe they are due for regression.
The offense has taken a dip without Josh Naylor, and the incredible season of Steven Kwan is bound to crash sooner or later. Not to say Kwan isn’t a good player, but there is no way he can continue this trend with his current barrel and hard-hit rates.
Bibee generates enough whiffs and chases that make me believe the Tigers will struggle tonight, and I think the same is true for the Guardians.
Tigers vs. Guardians
Betting Pick & Prediction
This is a slam dunk first-half under.
Unfortunately, we do not get a hook for extra insurance, but I still like it.
After the offensive outburst from the Guardians last night, they are in for a rude awakening against Flaherty. Despite good numbers against Bibee, I think the Tiger's offense will also scuffle through the early portion of the game.
I do not want to trust a late-game meltdown from either bullpen or perhaps a Bibee meltdown in his third time through the Tigers order. I’ll snag the first five innings under before the price becomes too steep.
