My Knicks vs. Heat prediction is below.

New York Knicks

After getting destroyed by the Boston Celtics on opening night, the Knicks responded well last Friday and returned the favor to the Indiana Pacers, blowing them out by 25 points. That game showcased the potential heights New York can reach this season.

Jalen Brunson led the way with 26 points and, in his home debut, Karl-Anthony Towns had 21 points, 15 rebounds and two blocks.

The team clicked on all cylinders and even held Tyrese Haliburton scoreless. In New York's third game, against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Knicks were ahead for three quarters until the Cavaliers went on a run in the fourth and ended up winning the game 110-104.

Josh Hart suffered a lower right knee contusion in the middle of the fourth quarter after colliding with Caris LeVert and didn't play for the rest of the game.

Brunson had an inefficient night, scoring 21 points on 24 shots. Brunson's off nights are expected, but it's troubling that Towns only attempted eight shots in the entire game.

This can't be a consistent trend. In the first game against the Celtics, Towns attempted nine shots. The Knicks didn't trade for the All-Star big for him to not take a good amount of shots. However, chemistry will likely come in time.

Tom Thibodeau has to find a way to get Towns more involved in the offense. The Knicks have a better chance of winning games when Towns puts up shots and scores.

Tonight, Towns will have a tough matchup against Bam Adebayo, one of the best defenders in the league.

With the Knicks, patience will be necessary.

Miami Heat

The Miami Heat are back in South Beach. They lost their season opener at home against the Orlando Magic last Wednesday, 116-97. Miami struggled to shoot the ball and only converted 39% of its shots. Jimmy Butler scored only three points and attempted eight shots, while Adebayo scored nine points and attempted only five shots.

After that first game, the Heat bounced back on the road against the Charlotte Hornets, winning 114-106. Butler looked much more like himself, scoring 26 points. Tyler Herro scored 22 points and Terry Rozier scored 19 points. The team also shot well from 3-point range, making 14 3s on 41% shooting.

The Heat followed that up by traveling to Detroit and beating the Pistons by eight (106-98). Butler scored 23 points and Adebayo recorded his second straight double-double.

Back at home, Miami can take advantage of a Knicks team that still has to gel and may have additional injury issues.

Betting Pick & Prediction

The Knicks may have more injury concerns as there's a possibility Hart won't play after being listed as questionable due to a lower right knee contusion he suffered against the Cavaliers on Monday night.

With the Miami Heat being at home, there's a chance they can come out of this contest with a win.

Pick: Heat +1
