Two of the best offensive teams in the ACC will face off on Tuesday night in Blacksburg when Virginia Tech plays host to the red-hot Miami Hurricanes.

Just like a year ago, Virginia Tech got off to a slow start in conference play and was on the wrong end of a lot of close games. The Hokies rallied last season, ultimately winning the ACC Tournament and getting into the Big Dance.

Tech will need a similarly strong finish if it wants to dance again this year. The Hokies check in at 6-10 in the conference and have not been able to string together consecutive wins throughout league play.

Meanwhile, Miami has won six in a row and remains firmly in the mix for a regular season title.

The Canes won the first meeting between these two in a shootout, 92-83.

Let's discuss where the betting value lies in the rematch.

Miami Hurricanes

Isaiah Wong and Nijel Pack continue to thrive as one of the best backcourts in all of America.

Both are experienced and can each score it in different ways.

It took Pack a bit of time to sync with Jim Larranaga’s offensive style after coming over from Kansas State, but he has been phenomenal over the last month.

Norchad Omier and Jordan Miller give the Canes two versatile bigs who can create matchup problems for opposing defenses. Miller is capable from the outside, but can also get to the rim off the bounce.

The weakness of this Miami group lies on the defensive end. The Canes still rank outside the top 100 in AdjD, which is cause for concern against a Virginia Tech team that has shooters galore.

In the first meeting, Virginia Tech got pretty much all that it wanted when it had the ball in the half-court.

Miami was able to outgun the Hokies in that shootout, but if it wants to complete the sweep, its defense will need to be much better.

Virginia Tech Hokies

The Hokies are a difficult team to figure out. There have been occasions where this has looked like a top-25 team, including in wins over Duke and Virginia.

There have also been moments — in losses to Boston College and Georgia Tech — where this group leaves a lot to be desired.

What we do know is that like Miami, Virginia Tech can really score it and possesses shooters everywhere.

Hunter Cattoor is as pure as they come from behind the arc, and point guard Sean Pedulla is also a dynamic shooter off the dribble.

Grant Basile is a versatile big who can score with his back to the basket, and he can also step out to the perimeter.

The Hokies aren't extremely athletic, which is the main reason for some of their defensive struggles.

Virginia Tech will need to be much better on the perimeter against Pack and Wong if it wants to protect home court and secure the victory.

Miami vs Virginia Tech Betting Pick

The Hokies have delivered with their backs against the wall inside the friendly confines of Cassell Coliseum all season.

I see that trend continuing on Tuesday night.

These teams mirror each other in a lot of ways, which was on display in the January matchup.

Both offenses will have the advantage, which will very likely lead to another high-scoring affair.

The over is worth a look as a result, but the bet I prefer is on Virginia Tech to protect home court.

Tech should be able to once again carve up a mediocre Miami defense, and it has shot the ball well at home all season.

The Miami winning streak ends at six. Give me Virginia Tech as a short home favorite.
