The Fighting Irish are looking to bounce back from their 79-64 loss to Marquette a week ago. To do so, they'll head to Atlanta to take on the Georgia Bulldogs.
Georgia, meanwhile will be playing its first game in nearly two weeks. The Bulldogs have yet to win a game this season against a team ranked better than 200th.
Is there any chance the Bulldogs can up keep with this Notre Dame team? Let's look at the odds and make a pick.
The Irish rank 30th in adjusted offensive efficiency, per KenPom, with an effective field goal percentage of 55.1%.
What's even more impressive is how few mistakes the Irish make. Notre Dame is third in turnover percentage and only gives up the ball on 13.9% of its possessions.
Notre Dame is also the top team in terms of limiting fouls. The Irish have averaged just 11.6 fouls per contest this season, which could be a major issue for a Georgia team that has seen 19.9% of its scoring come at the free throw line.
On the defensive end, the Irish have been average, allowing opposing teams to score 68.9 points per game. But when it comes to truly defending scorers, the Irish haven't been very impressive and are allowing teams to shoot 45.7% from the floor.
Georgia has struggled offensively with an effective field goal percentage of just 48.9%. However, the Bulldogs' defensive intensity and ability to slow down the game have made that less of an issue.
Terry Roberts and Kario Oquendo are the only two Bulldogs averaging double-digit points, scoring 14.2 and 13.9 points per game, respectively. The Bulldogs' defense has been elite and is holding teams to a 45.8% effective field goal percentage.
They've been even better when it comes to defending 3-point shooting, holding teams to just 25.9% from beyond the arc and allowing just 4.9 made 3s per game.
That should definitely be a factor against a Notre Dame team that averages 8.7 3s per game.
Notre Dame vs. Georgia Betting Pick
Notre Dame has three losses on the season, however all three have come against solid competition in Marquette, Syracuse and St. Bonaventure.
Meanwhile, Georgia's 9-1 record has come against significantly inferior competition.
Georgia simply won't be able to compete at either end of the floor with this Notre Dame team, which is why I'm backing the Irish to leave Atlanta with a win.
I would back Notre Dame by as many as eight points over the Bulldogs.
