Two Big East teams trending in opposite directions will face off Saturday when Marquette travels to Georgetown to take on Ed Cooley and the Hoyas.
Marquette is rolling right now, and finds itself sitting in second place in the conference with a 7-3 record in Big East play.
On the flip side, Georgetown has remained competitive in key games but does not have the record to show for it. The Hoyas are just 1-8 in conference play and 8-12 overall.
Marquette has now won five straight games, and superstar point guard Tyler Kolek just dropped 32 points, nine assists and six rebounds in a win at Villanova. Three of the Golden Eagles' last five wins have been on the road, and they will not be spooked by the Georgetown crowd in this one.
The Hoyas' only conference win came at home against a lowly DePaul squad by just three points. If there is one reason to believe in Georgetown in this one, it is that three of its last five losses have come by single digits.
Marquette is loaded on both ends, ranking in the top 30 in both offensive and defensive efficiency this season. Led by Kolek, the Golden Eagles take care of the basketball, generate easy shots and do not beat themselves.
Defensively, Marquette forces turnovers often, ranking 13th in forced turnover percentage. You have to take care of the basketball for 40 minutes to have a chance to upset the Golden Eagles as a less-talented opponent.
Marquette has ben dealing with some key injuries, however, with both Kam Jones and Sean Jones missing games over the last few weeks. Even when not at full strength, this team has more than enough to win big, as evidenced by its three wins of 13 or more points in its last five games.

Georgetown struggles to hang in games against better teams because of its defense. The Hoyas rank just 296th nationally in defensive efficiency.
The one thing Georgetown does well is generate second-chance opportunities. The Hoyas rebound their misses 35% of the time, which ranks 35th in all of college basketball.
Illinois transfer Jayden Epps has been their go-to guy offensively, averaging 24 points per game in his last five contests. Unfortunately, his high volume has not led to any wins, and Epps has back-to-back games with five turnovers coming into this game.

Betting Pick & Prediction
Given Georgetown's turnover woes (256th in turnover rate), it is hard to see the Hoyas keeping this one close. Back the better team to win and win big. The Golden Eagles should cover this spread with ease.
