San Diego State might be down a starter as Darrion Trammell is questionable after missing the season opener against Cal State Fullerton.
If Trammell remains out, Lamont Butler will comfortably slide into the starting point guard role. He tossed seven assists in the opener and has plenty of experience, so there isn't a major drop off from Trammell.

San Diego State has its next burgeoning star in Jaedon LeDee, who scored 27 points and secured 10 rebounds on Monday. As a result of his strength, he's borderline impossible to contain once he's in a comfortable position. Once LeDee gets inside, it's best to put him on the foul line, which Fullerton did 15 times.
Outside of LeDee and Butler, Reese Waters and Micah Parrish must hit 3's for BYU's defense to stay honest.
Waters, the reigning Pac-12 sixth man of the year from USC, was the big fish in Brian Dutcher's recruiting class. Waters scored 15 points in his Aztecs' debut, while Parrish added 17 points and four blocked shots.
BYU Cougars
Due to COVID, the most successful BYU team the Mark Pope era never saw the NCAA Tournament. But the 2020 Cougars excelled in one area — perimeter shooting. That's the exact formula BYU will follow this season, though it's without a go-to scoring option.
Coach Pope is handing the keys to point guard Trey Stewart, who scored 11 points and had four dimes in the Cougars' opener. However, Stewart will have his hands full against a suffocating defense.
Three of BYU's starters — Spencer Johnson, Trevin Knell and Noah Waterman — have shot over 40% from 3 at various points of their careers. Johnson and Knell scored 20 points and 19 points in the opener and could continue to have success because Charlotte transfer Aly Khalifa excels at finding shooters on the perimeter. The 6-foot-11 center is one of the best passers in the sport, so he'll look to carve up the Aztecs' defense.
