The Colorado Buffaloes are expected to receive a massive boost as they start their Pac-12 Tournament journey tonight.
Freshman Cody Williams is expected to return from an ankle injury for the second-round matchup against the Utah Utes.
"I'm good now, I'm back," Williams told the media after Tuesday's practice.
Williams suffered an ankle injury against the Utes on Feb. 24. The projected lottery pick attempted to play through the injury, but was clearly hobbling and in discomfort.
"I wanted to see if I could play through it," Williams said. "Coach said if I could play that they could really use me out there, so I just toughed it out for that game, tried my best and obviously, after that game, I had to get healthy.
Williams has sat out the past four games, of which the Buffs won all four and put themselves in NCAA Tournament position. Most bracketologists either have the Buffs as a No. 10 seed or in the last four.
Williams is a projected top-five pick in the NBA Draft. In a recent Bleacher Report mock draft, Jonathan Wasserman had Williams going fifth overall. He was the second college basketball player off the board behind Kentucky's Reed Sheppard.
Williams, who is the younger brother of the Oklahoma City Thunder's Jalen Williams, is averaging 13.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. He was named a Pac-12 Freshman All-American.
The Buffs will likely need to win at least one game in the Pac-12 Tournament to confirm their spot in the NCAA Tournament and Williams can certainly help with that.
