The Stars will look to defend home ice and claw back into their series with the Knights on Tuesday. They have been a tremendous defensive team all season long, and that strength was on display in Game 2 of this series.
Dallas' elite defensive play is the key angle to my same game parlay, with picks on Jack Eichel, Roope Hintz and the Knights' team total.
Same Game Parlay: Knights vs. Stars Game 3
The Parlay (+400 bet365)
- Vegas Team Total Under 2.5
- Jack Eichel Under 3.5 Shots on Goal
- Roope Hintz Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
Vegas Team Total Under 2.5
The Stars played a near-perfect game defensively in Game 2 of this series. Ryan Suter's miscue late in the third allowed the Knights to force overtime before Chandler Stephenson netted a winner off of a shaky rebound by Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger.
The 57 minutes of play prior to those two moments were extremely impressive from Dallas.
Their Game 2 performance shouldn't surprise anybody, as they've proven to be one of the best defensive sides in the league all year. Dallas' 2.25 xGA/60 rating this postseason is the best mark of all 16 teams.
Middling play from Oettinger in goal has been a surprising concern. He's played to a -4.5 GSAx in these playoffs and a save % of only .901 in 15 playoff appearances. His elite history gives me confidence that he can bounce back though, and I'm willing to trust he'll be in top form tonight when called upon.
Jack Eichel Under 3.5 Shots on Goal
Dallas' excellent defensive play in Game 2 led to the Knights recording just 22 shots through regulation in a game played in Vegas.
As we have touched on, the Stars could manage a similar performance on Tuesday. That would mean the Knights' top skaters not receiving many opportunities in front of the goal and generating well below average shot totals.
That has me interested in looking at some Knights shooters to go under, and Jack Eichel seems to check a lot of boxes.
Eichel has recorded seven shots on goal in the opening two games, coming from only nine shot attempts. Things will get tougher for Eichel on the road, as he should spend more time playing against Miro Heiskanen's defensive pairing and either the Hintz line or the Radek Faksa shutdown unit.
Roope Hintz Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
Hintz has been on an incredible run this postseason, and it makes sense to count on him coming through in this big spot with his side down two games.
Jason Robertson, Joe Pavelski and Hintz continue to be an unstoppable force at five-on-five.
Hintz has generated 12 shot attempts in the opening two games of this series, which has led to six shots on target.
If Dallas is to control play at a high rate in this matchup, over 2.5 shots should be a pretty safe bet.
