Game 2 of what should be a very hard fought, tightly contested series between the New York Islanders and Carolina Hurricanes is set for tonight.

Our plan here is to target a game script involving the Islanders stealing a low-scoring game behind star netminder Ilya Sorokin, which will hopefully allow us to try and stay hot with our new NHL Playoffs same game parlay piece.

Here are my favorite SGP options from the contest, which prices out at +475 on bet365 at the time of writing.

I also have an alternative +4000 long shot to sprinkle in, as well.

Same-Game Parlay: Islanders vs. Hurricanes

The Parlay (+475) bet365

  • Islanders Moneyline
  • Under 6.5
  • Ilya Sorokin Over 31.5 Saves

Islanders Moneyline

For several years, Carolina has proven that it has a tough time finishing chances off, and that is the angle we are targeting at +475 here.

The Islanders are priced at +150 to win this game, which seems to be a fair take on their chances to steal Game 2 in Carolina.

The reason I'm willing to include this is my belief in the game script I mentioned in the introduction.

The Islanders hung around effectively in Game 1 at even strength, but were ultimately undone by allowing two goals to Carolina's powerplay.

If New York can find a way to reduce the amount of penalties and shore up the penalty kill, it could open up a good avenue for Sorokin to shine and an opportunistic win.

Under 6.5

My thoughts here are that the vast majority of Islanders' wins come via low-scoring games. It's very hard to see them generating more than three goals against the Hurricanes' incredible defense.

If New York allows three or more, it will likely never win this game anyways.

Ilya Sorokin Over 31.5 Saves

The Canes peppered the Islanders' goal with 39 shots in Game 1, and I believe they will continue to fire away in Game 2.

I outlined here why I thought this was a good play in that contest, and it will be an even better play if the Islanders manage to garner a lead, which we obviously need if the Isles are to actually win this game.

The Parlay (+4000) Bet365

  • Regulation Tie
  • Brent Burns Over 3.5 Shots on Goal
  • Brock Nelson Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
  • Martin Necas Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
  • Bo Horvat Over 2.5 Shots on Goal

Bet365 single game parlays are counting shots coming past regulation, which is part of our plan. It helped us cash at +2500 on Monday, and our plan is for it to help us out here.

This game has a decent chance of going to overtime, as it should remain relatively close throughout.

A lengthy overtime helps us cash overs for all of our shooters, which is obviously an extreme long shot.

These are my four favorite shooters from the game, and I expect all of them to be fairly involved.
