The Calgary Flames have been a complete and utter mess this season and are costing themselves a playoff spot with their inconsistency. They are 3-4-3 in their past 10 games and need to figure it out fast if they want to have any chance to make the postseason.

Meanwhile, the Vegas Golden Knights are getting hot at the right time thanks to the addition of Jonathan Quick, who is 4-0-0 with his new team.

This is Vegas' game to lose.

Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames have been one of the most frustrating teams to figure out this season. They have lost two of their past three games and the opponents they lost to were the Anaheim Ducks and the Arizona Coyotes, two of the worst teams in the NHL.

The problem with the Flames is inconsistency. One night they look phenomenal offensively, then another night they can't seem to buy a goal.

Jacob Markstrom has been better lately, but this season has not been a strong one for him as a whole. He's 18-18-9 with a .894 save percentage and a 2.85 goals against average.

Calgary is trending in the wrong direction and I don't think it is going to figure it out anytime soon.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Vegas Golden Knights look like a rejuvenated group and enter this game on a four-game winning streak. They're also 7-2-1 in their past 10 games. Vegas is absolutely buzzing right now and is 8-1 in its past nine home games and 5-1 in its past six games following a win.

This team has exploded offensively, scoring 18 goals in its past four games. Most importantly, they are getting scoring contributions from everyone in the lineup.

Adin Hill is likely to get the start in goal for the Golden Knights and he has been much better than a typical backup goaltender. He is boasting a 16-7-1 record with a .915 save percentage and a 2.50 goals against average.

The Golden Knights are getting hot at the right time and have had a ton of success against Calgary.

Flames vs. Golden Knights Pick

Everything in this matchup seems favor the Vegas Golden Knights. The Flames are struggling and it doesn't seem like they are going to help themselves get out of this funk.

The Golden Knights have had much more consistent goal scoring and goaltending.

Vegas is becoming one of the hottest teams in the NHL and I just don't see the Golden Knights losing this game to a much weaker Calgary Flames squad.
