Each week on the BBOC YouTube channel, I make my picks for three of Saturday's marquee matchups in college football. Here are my picks for Week 9's big games, including Notre Dame vs. Navy, Penn State vs. Wisconsin, and LSU vs. my Texas A&M Aggies.
You can also follow all of my tracked picks on the Action App.
College Football Week 9 Picks
- Notre Dame vs. Navy Under 51.5
- Wisconsin +6.5 vs. Penn State
- Texas A&M to beat LSU
Notre Dame vs. Navy
I'm seeing this game as being a little bit different from what Navy has gotten used to this year.
They're playing a really good Notre Dame defense and have gone over in all of their games this year. That's why I'm going to mix it up a little bit and go with the under.
I think more than anything this is going to be one of those games where Navy is going to have to fight it out, do what they do, and run the ball to try to scratch and claw their way in it. But this is something they've been good enough at this year to prove that they can hang.
Pick: Under 51.5
Penn State at Wisconsin
I'm going with the home 'dog here. Wisconsin has only given up 16 points over the last three weeks. I think their defense has been playing a lot better.
This is one of those games for Penn State where you have to wonder if they are looking a little bit ahead to next week and that big game against Ohio State.
They're playing in a hostile environment on the road, and this is a game where Wisconsin is already going to be fired up, and I think they'll be ready to go.
Pick: Wisconsin +6.5
LSU at Texas A&M
We've seen over the last couple of weeks for Texas A&M what their blueprint is for what they want to do offensively.
You're going to have to run the ball against this good LSU defense, but I think this is something they're capable of doing.
Luckily, you get this game at home, because it scares me a bit. Watching this LSU team a couple weeks ago against Ole Miss, they battle and seem to fight and find a way to get it done offensively, even if it's not always pretty.
So I think this is a game where A&M is going to have to be really, really physical on the defensive line and they're going to have to be able to run the ball.
For this Texas A&M team, it begins and ends in the trenches. If they don't get it done up front, I'll definitely be a little bit worried, but I think it's something they can do on Saturday night.
Pick: Texas A&M ML (-114)
