The latest Steelers vs. Bengals odds for NFL Week 12 have Pittsburgh installed as 1.5-point favorites on the spread with a game total of 35.5. My NFL pick for this game is on the Steelers' best offensive weapon.

The Steelers enter this game at 6-4 following last week's 13-10 loss to the rival Browns. The Bengals are 5-5 and in last place in the tough AFC North. After losing Joe Burrow for the season in last week's loss to the Ravens, the Bengals are turning to Jake Browning. Also of note in this game is that maligned offensive coordinator Matt Canada was fired by the Steelers; running backs coach Eddie Faulkner was promoted to interim OC.

Will the Steelers suddenly run a competent offense? Will it even matter against a Bengals offense led by Browning? Let's preview the game and get to my Steelers vs. Bengals prediction.

Matchup Analysis

The Steelers find themselves at a crossroads. Even though they currently sit in a playoff spot, head coach Mike Tomlin just relieved offensive coordinator Matt Canada from his duties.

It's a shocking move on paper for a team winning games. However, when you consider Pittsburgh’s 16.6 points per game is 28th in the NFL, it's not that surprising — possibly even overdue. The Steelers' success has come on the back of their defense, which is allowing 19.5 points per game, the seventh-lowest in the NFL.

The Steelers are no stranger to offensive woes. Last season, they averaged just over 18 points per game. Eddie Faulkner, previously Pittsburgh's running backs coach, will take over Canada’s position as offensive coordinator.

While Faulkner will not be calling the offense, I can’t help to think that he will be in Mike Sullivan’s ear and having a say in the plays that are called. This is the perfect opportunity for the Steelers' running back tandem if Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren to expose the Bengals’ lackluster run defense.

Cincinnati has allowed 138.3 rushing yards per game and five yards per attempt. These metrics put them amongst the worst in the NFL.

With Kenny Pickett yet to have a breakthrough performance, the Steelers will need to resort to what they know: the run game.

There will be plenty of opportunities for Pittsburgh to get the ground game going, but will it be Harris or Warren getting the bulk of the work?

Faulkner has gone on record saying, “We need both of those guys,” but after looking at the usage rates, there is a trend that I can’t help but notice.

Jaylen Warren has seen a huge uptick in carries over the last three weeks.

In the first seven games of the season, Warren averaged 6.4 carries per game. During the last three, he's up to 11.6. He's also averaging over 100 rushing yards per game and 6.5 yards per attempt.

Pick: Jaylen Warren Over 47.5 Rushing Yards (-115; BetRivers)
