deGrom had his most recent start skipped due to shoulder fatigue, something we all knew was a legitimate possibility if he was able to remain healthy for the majority of the season. He hadn't thrown more than 100 inning since 2019 so his 140 inning in 2025 puts him in territory he hasn't seen in several years. He threw a bullpen session on Saturdy and everything is good to go tonight, but there's still questions about how much TEX is willing to push him down the stretch. The bullpen is set up nicely to cover several innings tonight and the Angels offense has given him fits over the last couple months (5 IP 3 ER in early July / 5.1 IP, 5 ER in late July). I'll take my chances that Bochy isn't looking to run him into the ground in his first start after experiencing some fatigue.
