Angels vs Royals MLB Betting Preview

By Derek Carty

Nick Loftin isn’t an especially good hitter. He’s more of a .230–.240 guy, not the .300 hitter we’ve seen this year. And according to The BAT X, he has about a 59% chance of being pinch-hit for once the bullpen comes in.

Yusei Kikuchi could certainly give up a hit to Lofton, but once we get to the bullpen, there’s a decent chance Lofton is out of the game. Even though Kikuchi has been up and down, stuff-wise, he’s looked pretty solid this year — a little bit above average. His xERA is 4.22, which isn’t amazing but is about 10% above league average.

I like it down to about plus 110.  Once the bullpen enters and we limit him to just two or three at-bats, I feel really good about this.
