In baseball, you always want to account for previous years' data, and Brandon Young, tonight's Orioles starter, gave up almost two home runs per nine innings last season.
He is not a great pitcher; not only does he give up contact, but it is hard contact. Batters get balls up in the air against Young, and those frequently end up being home runs.
I'm backing Red Sox RF Wilyer Abreu to get a home run. I know he hasn't hit one in a little while — his last HR was on April 1st — but I don't put a lot of stock into that sort of thing.
Abreu looks like the same guy this season. He has enough power and will play in a good park for home runs.
I like his odds here at +412; those are the best on the board. This pick is good down to +400.
