Brit Devine’s Reds vs Cardinals Preview
We are going to see some of the best hitting weather ever recorded in multiple games on Saturday, and the game in St. Louis is no exception.
It should be in the mid-90s by first pitch, with decent humidity, sustained winds of 15 mph blowing out to center, and with gusts approaching 25 mph or more.
The Reds are starting rookie Chase Petty, who was obliterated in his first two MLB starts this year but has since found some reasonable performances in Triple-A. He has been called up, and this looks to be a tough way to try to get back on track at the MLB level.
The Cardinals are rolling out Sonny Gray, who has been alternating great starts with horrific ones for the better part of two months (he's due for a good start here if you buy into that nonsense), but has shown the ability to allow some big games recently.
The books are sleeping on this total. I would have this at least 9.5, if not 10.
