The Yankees, in what feels like a must-win World Series Game 3, look to rebound from a pair of disappointing losses to the Dodgers. New York had plenty of chances with 14 hits across the first two games; it could be ready to breakthrough versus Dodgers Game 3 Walker Buehler, who's the focus of one of my two World Series props for Monday night.

You can find my Dodgers vs Yankees Game 3 props below.

Dodgers vs Yankees Game 3 Props

  • Walker Buehler Over 3.5 Hits Allowed (-175, DraftKings | Play to -180)
  • Jazz Chisholm Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases (+200, bet365)

The Dodgers are planning to have a bullpen day in Game 4, and Game 5 takes place Wednesday. With that in mind, Buehler should get a fairly long leash in this game, even if he isn't pitching overly well. He's allowed well over one hit per inning across a lengthy sample and it seems unlikely that will change in a matchup versus the high-powered Yankees.

Over his past 44 innings pitched, Buehler has allowed 49 hits (.276 BA).

Buehler's stuff looked much improved in his dominant NLCS performance at Citi Field, but he was still hard-hit 44% of the time. Additionally, he holds a 5.18 xFIP this postseason.

The Yankees held a league-leading 120 wRC+ versus righties this season.  They have struck out 22.5% of the time in the postseason, but are also making lots of quality contact (36% hard-hit rate, 21.1% line-drive rate).

Chisholm appeared to be due for better results than he was getting early in the playoffs as he was making a ton of hard contact. Well, what he's done recently has been highly impressive, especially against some high-quality arms. Over the past three games, Chisholm holds a .385 xBA and has put four balls in play with exit velocities greater than 100 mph.

In his past 200 plate appearances, Chisholm holds a 50% hard-hit rate and a .251 xBA.

Buehler provides a quality matchup for Chisholm to continue his solid start to the World Series. Chisholm holds a .787 OPS versus right-handed pitchers this season and slugged .461. Left-handed batters are hitting .296 and slugging .528 against Buehler this season.
