Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performances of two pitchers. This personalized bet can be crafted through sportsbooks such as DraftKings and Barstool Sportsbook.

This NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI, as it combines two separate half-innings from the first innings of two different games and allows you to tailor the bet to your preferences.

Our first selection for today's custom NRFI features Zack Wheeler, the Philadelphia Phillies' ace. Wheeler has been dominant this season, boasting an impressive 15-3 NRFI record, including a near-perfect 8-1 home NRFI split.

Overall, Wheeler's NRFI record stands at an outstanding 38-6 since 2022, and he holds a remarkable 20-2 NRFI record when pitching at home.

In previous matchups against the San Diego Padres, Wheeler has demonstrated his dominance, holding Manny Machado (2-of-14), Jake Cronenworth (2-of-11), Ha-Seong Kim (1-of-7), and Gary Sanchez (1-of-6) in check. Additionally, Cronenworth has been struggling coming out of the All-Star break, with just one hit in his last 13 at-bats for a .077 average.

Despite the Padres' offensive firepower, they achieve the NRFI on the road at a rate of 71%.

Our second selection for today's custom NRFI focuses on Joe Ryan of the Minnesota Twins. Ryan has been solid this season, holding a 14-4 NRFI record, bringing his overall NRFI record to an impressive 34-11 since 2022.

Today, Ryan benefits from the advantage of facing the Oakland A's hitters for the first time, which gives him the edge of unfamiliarity. Furthermore, several key A's hitters are currently in a slump. Ryan Noda has managed only two hits in his last 12 at-bats, resulting in a .154 average. Alongside him, both Seth Brown and Jace Peterson have struggled, posting a .192 average with only five hits in their last 26 at-bats combined.

Since July 1, the A's have recorded just six hits in the first inning for a putrid .182 batting average. It's no surprise Oakland struggles in the first inning, as it owns one of the highest NRFI rates at home (80%).

This custom NRFI is priced at (-158) at DraftKings.
