Today, we turn our attention to the Great American Ballpark, where an intriguing NRFI proposition lies between two National League teams, the New York Mets and the Cincinnati Reds.

Toeing the rubber first for the Mets is veteran hurler Justin Verlander. Despite a shaky start in his first outing, Verlander is poised for a bounce-back performance today, returning to his exceptional NRFI form.

Last season, Verlander held batters to a measly .177 average during his first time through the order, allowing only 42 hits in 237 at-bats.

Interestingly, Verlander has limited exposure to this Reds lineup, which could play to his advantage. However, the Reds' batters he's faced previously haven't fared well against him, with Wil Myers going 1-for-4 and Nick Senzel going 0-for-3.

The Reds' lineup is one of the weaker units in MLB, providing an ideal platform for Verlander to regain his form.

Facing off against Verlander is the Reds' young flamethrower, Hunter Greene. Greene has had a remarkable start to the season, boasting a 6-1 NRFI record, including a perfect 3-0 home NRFI split.

Greene's track record against the Mets' lineup also indicates potential success, holding Pete Alonso to 0-for-2, Eduardo Escobar to 0-for-3, Starling Marte to 0-for-3, Daniel Vogelbach to 0-for-2 and Francisco Lindor to 1-for-2.

Moreover, the Mets are currently the second-worst first-inning hitting team in baseball, with a dismal .194 average over 149 plate appearances, further solidifying Greene's position in this NRFI bet.

A noteworthy discrepancy in the pricing of this NRFI exists between major sportsbooks. DraftKings currently lists the NRFI at -140, while FanDuel is offering more attractive odds at -108.

As always, six outs to glory…
