Matchup | Freddy Peralta vs. Ryan Feltner |
First Pitch | 8:40 p.m. ET |
Coors Field features No Runs First Inning (NRFI) betting value between the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies this evening.
Ryan Feltner will take the mound for the Rockies, and the 26-year-old has shown significant improvement with a 13-5 NRFI record this season. His current 5-0 NRFI streak has elevated his overall performance to an impressive 18-5 since last season. Feltner's limited encounters with key Brewers batters should play in his favor today, with Luke Voit at 0-2, Willy Adames at 0-3 and Christian Yelich at 1-3. It's worth mentioning that Adames has been struggling lately, with only two hits in his last 16 at-bats.
William Contreras also finds himself in a critical position batting fifth. However, he's had trouble connecting with the ball over the past week, only managing a .154 average with two hits in his last 13 at-bats. Over the past 14 days, the Brewers have been one of the weaker first-inning hitting teams as they have just eight hits in 46 plate appearances, leading to a .205 average. Additionally, their 31.3% Strikeout Rate is the sixth-highest in the league.
Freddy Peralta takes the mound for the Brewers, and like Feltner, he has a strong 4-1 NRFI record this season. Peralta's will face key hitters who have struggled against him such as Chris Bryant at 3-16, Charlie Blackmon at 1-9, Ryan McMahon at 0-2 and, to a lesser degree, Mike Moustakas at 3-8. Peralta is 15-3 to the NRFI when he is a favorite of at least -165, so this matchup sets up favorably.
Coors Field is notorious for being unfriendly to pitchers, but today's colder temperatures and light rain may tilt the balance slightly in their favor. FanDuel Sportsbook currently offers a +130 line, presenting a valuable opportunity.
As always six outs to glory…
