We split our two picks on Thursday as Walker Buehler wasn't sharp and JP Sears dominated.

However, we're still in a great spot to carry our momentum into the weekend.

With a plan in place, let's dive into our MLB player props for Friday, June 7.

MLB Player Props Friday

  • Joe Ryan Over 17.5 Outs (-167, BetRivers)
  • Jake Irvin Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-130, DraftKings)
  • Chris Bassitt Over 1.5 Walks Allowed (+110, bet365)

I'm going right back to the well here. Buehler was unable to get the job done against the Pirates on Thursday, so I'm turning to a more proven commodity in Joe Ryan.

Ryan has been an innings eater for the Twins this season, throwing at least six innings in 67% of his starts. That hit rate gives us the implied odds edge we're looking for at -203.

However, as we discussed yesterday, the Pirates are a great matchup for righties; they rank 28th in wRC+ against them and have the fifth-highest team strikeout rate in baseball.

Back Ryan to get the job done tonight.

Pick: Joe Ryan Over 17.5 Outs (-167)

Jake Irvin Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-130)

Jake Irvin has taken a step forward this season for the Nationals, and he flashed his potential when he faced the Braves two weeks ago. He threw six shutout innings while allowing two hits and striking out 10 batters.

His performance was certainly impressive, but it's also an outlier that's made his strikeout prop line too high for this next meeting with the Braves.

Irvin's strikeout rate is up three percent, as he's throwing many more strikes this season in general. But that's still kept him under this line in 58% of his starts.

Additionally, the Braves are an average club when it comes to striking out against lefties, ranking 12th.

Given that Irvin is due for regression and the Braves will be getting a second look at him in as many weeks, we should see a much lower strikeout total.

Our Action Labs projection agrees, as they have Irvin slated for just 4.5 strikeouts.

Pick: Jake Irvin Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-130)

Lastly, we head to Oakland, where the Athletics are typically a team to pick on with pitcher props.

They excel offensively in one area, though: drawing walks.

Shockingly, the A's have the sixth-highest walk rate in baseball, and they're facing a pitcher tonight in Chris Bassitt, who has a tendency to allow his fair share of free passes.

Bassitt's walk line is priced wrong, as the matchup weighs too heavily. He's walked at least two batters in nine of his 12 starts this year and 55% of his last 76 starts.

That's a large sample size that shows this line should be flipped.

So, take the value and root for the disciplined A's.

Pick: Chris Bassitt Over 1.5 Walks Allowed
