For my Tuesday MLB player props, I'll be looking into three hitters from the NL Central — Christian Yelich, Brice Turang and Ke'Bryan Hayes. Additionally, Chase Dollander is starting at home, which may lead to a big game for the Astros.
Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for the MLB games on Tuesday, July 1.
MLB Player Props for July 1, 2025
- Ke'Bryan Hayes Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (-105, BetMGM)
- Christian Yelich and Brice Turang One Hit Parlay (+115, Fanatics)
- Chase Dollander Over 2.5 Earned Runs (-155, DraftKings)
Cardinals vs Pirates Player Props: Ke'Bryan Hayes Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In
After a brief rain delay, the Pirates cruised to a 7-0 victory over the Cardinals last night. They have quietly won four games in a row while scoring seven runs in each of those wins. Meanwhile, Ke'Bryan Hayes' hitting streak, which he extended to nine with a two-run single to help the Pirates break the game open in the fifth inning last night, is also ongoing.
During his streak, Hayes is hitting .424 with three doubles, eight runs scored, 10 runs batted in and a .972 OPS. Tonight, he will face Cardinals right-hander Andre Pallante, and I like Hayes' chances in that matchup. Pallante ranks in the 15th percentile in xBA and in the 18th percentile in hard-hit percentage. He has a 1.35 WHIP and is surrendering a .296 average to right-handed hitters.
Hayes has two singles against Pallante in nine at-bats, which you can usually expect from him since he only has two home runs on the year. However, a base hit and run scored or an RBI will get the job done for us tonight. Hayes has cleared this line in seven of his past nine games while averaging 3.5 hits + runs + runs batted in per game. I like his chances of continuing that trend tonight.
Brewers vs Mets Player Props: Christian Yelich and Brice Turang One Hit Parlay
The Brewers have won eight of their past 10 games and have pulled within two games of the Cubs in the NL Central. In that span, they have averaged 7.7 runs per game. Two contributing factors in their surge have been Christian Yelich and Brice Turang.
Yelich closed June on a 12-game hitting streak while hitting .412 with six doubles, three home runs, 18 RBI and a 1.150 OPS. He is among the league's leaders in both average exit velocity and hard-hit percentage. He is hitting .314 on the road and .284 against right-handed pitchers this season. He is 3-for-5 with two doubles against Clay Holmes.
Turang hasn't yet faced Holmes, but is hitting .285 against right-handed pitching this season. His hitting streak is up to 13 games and he is hitting .415 with five doubles, nine runs batted in and a 1.005 OPS during that streak. He has also raised his average to .289 with eight multi-hit games in that span.
Holmes has been a stabilizing figure for the Mets' pitching staff, but the Mets have lost 13 of their past 16 games, and pitching has largely been the culprit. If Holmes struggles, this hit parlay should cash, but I also like their chances against the Mets' bullpen.
Astros vs Rockies Player Props: Chase Dollander Over 2.5 Earned Runs
The Astros will face a rookie who is struggling in his first go-around in the major leagues.
Chase Dollander has a 6.06 ERA this season, but has been even worse at home. At Coors Field, he has an 8.54 ERA, a .306 opposing batting average and has allowed eight home runs over 26 1/3 innings. He has allowed at least three earned runs in five of six home starts and four earned runs in four of them.
The Astros have been without Yordan Alvarez most of the season, and they just placed Jeremy Pena on the IL as well. Yet, they keep trucking along. Rookie Cam Smith is coming off a big series against the Cubs — the team that drafted him — and is bringing a hot bat to Colorado. Jake Meyers has a hit in 15 of his past 16 games. Those are two of the Astros I expect to contribute to getting at least three earned runs off Dollander.
