Hornets vs. Pistons Odds & Betting Predictions - January 4, 2025

The Pistons face off against the Hornets on Friday night and I’m expecting some rotational changes for Detroit. Jaden Ivey suffered a broken fibula and without him in the Pistons’ rotation there will be a significant gap in their rotations. One player I expect to step up is Ausar Thompson. When Ausar has played without Ivey the last two seasons he has averaged 14 points and 5.5 rebounds over the last two seasons. The rotations are a bit different this year with Tobias Harris and Malik Beasley in the fold, but considering his minutes have been trending up the past few games there is even more opportunity that opened up here. When Ausar has played at least 20 minutes, he has hit this in 28/47 games over the last two seasons. Considering the Hornets are bottom of the league in Offense and Defense, there should be plenty of opportunities for Thompson to score and grab boards today.
