The NBA Playoffs are officially in full swing, and the intensity is already through the roof. Today, the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic will face off in Game 2 of their first-round series. In a game as meaningful as this one, we’re looking for the "ceiling" performances.
That’s where the ladder pick comes in. If you think a player might go way over their line, you bet their standard over, then "ladder" up into alternate territories (3+, 4+, 5+) for a higher payout. Today, I'm targeting the Pistons' floor spacer: Duncan Robinson.
NBA Alternate Line Picks for Pistons vs. Magic
- Duncan Robinson 3+ Three-Pointers Made (+103)
- Duncan Robinson 4+ Three-Pointers Made (+252)
- Duncan Robinson 5+ Three-Pointers Made (+556)
Duncan Robinson 3+ (+103) | 4+ (+252) | 5+ (+556) Three-Pointers Made
Put me in the Action camp of guys who think Cade Cunningham is in for a big game tonight — and while I have plays on him as well, I think Duncan Robinson will be the beneficiary of some potential Cunningham assists.
Detroit needs shooting, and everyone knows it, making Robinson immensely important for this team.
Even in that uneasy Game 1, Robinson went 3-for-6 from deep, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't get up more attempts to provide that sorely needed spacing against Orlando's defense.
If Cunningham is going to get downhill, especially on mismatches (hi, Wendell Carter Jr.), then Robinson should have opportunities while flaring out to the wing or corner to be the outlet on these inside-out opportunities.
For his eight-year career, Robinson has shot 40 percent from deep across 71 games.
