Kings vs Lakers NBA Preview

The Lakers and Warriors have consistently given the fans great matchups as they have split the last 10 meetings entering last night's primetime tilt.

However, a tight game was not in the cards last night as the Lakers dominated from start to finish- not an unsurprising result with Stephen Curry out.

The Lakers jumped out to an early lead and led by 18 points at halftime en route to a 129-101 victory.

Luka Doncic had 26 points, six rebounds, and eight assists on his birthday, doing much of his scoring in the third quarter.

LeBron James had 22 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists.

Austin Reaves, Jake LaRavia, and Luke Kennard each scored 15 points as the team shot 53% from the field and made 19 3s.

Oddsmakers expect the Lakers to cruise once again as they are double-digit favorites back home against the Kings.

The Lakers had won six straight as well as the first two meetings against the Kings this season.

However, the Kings upset them 124-112 in the last meeting in January.

The Kings have the NBA's worst record. However, they have won two of their last three games entering tonight's matchup.

The interesting thing about that is those wins came after the Kings announced Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, and De'Andre Hunter all would miss the rest of the season with season-ending surgeries — the team's first notable signs of tanking this season.

They have done just fine losing on their own as they rank 28th in offensive and defensive rating and 29th in net rating this season.

However, they have gotten a spark of late from their youth with Maxime Raynaud, Nique Clifford, Devin Carter, and Daeqwon Plowden providing a spark.

Russell Westbrook has been impactful as well and he will be motivated back in his hometown and against his former team.

The Lakers have not submitted an injury report as of this writing, but James' status bears monitoring on the back-to-back. Though he may give it a go tonight after last night's comfortable victory.

Kings vs Lakers Predictions, Betting Analysis

Maxime Raynaud Over 22.5 Points & Rebounds

We are used to seeing Sabonis fill up the stat sheet for the Kings, but Raynaud is stating his case that he should be the team's future.

Over his last seven games, he is averaging 15.1 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.

He has recorded 23 points and rebounds combined in five of those games.

Raynaud already has a double-double against the Lakers with 16 points and 10 rebounds in December.

Precious Achiuwa 20+ Points & Rebounds

Joining him down low will be Precious Achiuwa, who has 10 rebounds in four of his last five games.

He has scored 14 points in four of those games.

That has helped him record 20 PR in three of his last 15 games, including 41 last time out.

Russell Westbrook 15+ Points

Westbrook's brief tenure with the Lakers did not go well and he often plays on emotion.

He has scored 15.3 points in his last 11 games against the Lakers.

He has scored 18, 13, and 22 points in three against them this season.

Westbrook enters tonight's game having scored 17 points in four of his last six games.

Luka Doncic 25+ Points

Meanwhile, Doncic has scored 25 points in seven of his last 10 games.

He has scored 25 in six straight against the Kings, averaging 30.5 per game in that span.
