Kentucky vs Florida SEC Tournament Pick, Betting Preview
Kentucky is definitely helping its case with back-to-back wins to open up the SEC Tournament. Its reward? A date with the No. 1 seed Florida Gators.
These two teams met in the regular-season finale, which ended in a seven-point Florida win.
The Gators just recently moved up into the conversation for a No. 1 seed. That would be two in a row for this team.
This spread is a little big for my liking. I lean toward taking the points with Kentucky, especially since the spread sat around six points the last time they met.
I don’t think Florida is five points better on a neutral court, and Kentucky has been within double digits in both losses to Florida.
Ultimately, I'll attack this game the same way I did in their last meeting: by taking the over.
The number is about the same as their prior meetings, which ended with 161 and 175 points, respectively. Expect the pace to be fast and furious, and as we often see in tournaments, we can expect a lot of late-game free throws.
Both teams sit in the top 63 in average possession length before a shot attempt, and Florida ranks 24th in adjusted tempo. The Gators will push and dictate the pace here.
My Pick: Over 159.5 (Play to 161)
