Boilermakers 2024 Schedule & Betting Odds
Purdue Boilermakers 2021-22 Season
The Purdue Boilermakers come into 2021-22 with a few demons to exercise after a dismal NCAA Tournament showing last season. A first round loss to 13-seed North Texas was not what anybody had in mind. Purdue brought back most of its team from last year looking for redemption. The Boilermakers entered the season as #7 in the preseason polls, and figured to be in a season-long battle with the Michigan Wolverines for dominance of the Big Ten. Purdue has taken care of business in the Big Ten, for the most part, with losses to Rutgers, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. Purdue has sat atop the conference for most of the season, but as is always the case with the Big Ten, it will be a dogfight to the very end.
Purdue is currently ranked #5 in the country ahead of conference tournament play. Many see Purdue as a strong title contender given the rigors that they have faced each night in Big Ten play. The Boilermakers finish out the season with two more ranked opponents. A few more ranked victories can help pad Purdue's NCAA Tournament resume as they have their eyes set on the Final Four.

Betting on the Purdue Boilermakers
Purdue has some tough matchups remaining in the season, but it's likely that they should be favored the rest of the way. Here are some of the popular bet types that you can make on the Boilermakers if you live in a legal sports betting state.
- Moneyline
- Point Spread
- Over/Under
- Props
- Futures Odds
Purdue Moneyline
A moneyline bet requires a bettor to correctly pick the winner of the game. If you pick the winner of the game correctly, you will win the bet. How much you win will be determined by your wager amount and the associated moneyline for the team you bet on. Here's an example using a recent Purdue game against Michigan.
- Purdue -175 moneyline
- Michigan +135 moneyline
Purdue is the team favored to win this game, which is indicated by the minus sign (-) next to their moneyline. Michigan is the underdog denoted by the plus sign (+) next to their moneyline. The moneyline number signifies the potential payout for each team. Someone betting on Purdue would have to bet $175 to win $100 whereas a bettor would win $135 with a wager of $100 on Michigan.
Purdue Point Spread
Users can also place a point spread wager on the Purdue Boilermakers. This requires a bettor to correctly select the margin of victory by a particular team, rather than simply who wins. Here's the same Purdue vs. Michigan matchup as an example.
- Purdue -3.5 (-112)
- Michigan +3.5 (-108)
Oddsmakers set a margin of victory total known as the spread. In this game, Purdue has to win by 4 or more points to beat this spread and Michigan either has to win the game outright or lose by 3 points or less to beat the spread. Point spreads also have an additional element known as juice, or the vig, which is the tax paid to the sportsbook for each bet. The juice is indicated next to the point spread. This number is used to determine a wager payout. For a bet on the Boilermakers, a bettor would earn a profit of $100 for every $112 risked. Someone betting on Michigan would earn a profit of $100 for every $108 risked.
Purdue Over/Unders
Betting on over/under totals looks at the cumulative final score between two teams, not the winner or loser of the game. Bettors are required to accurately predict if the teams combine higher or lower than a number set by oddsmakers. Oddsmakers set the over/under total for Purdue vs. Michigan at 145 points.
- Over 145 points (-108)
- Under 145 points (-112)
Again, juice or vig comes into play with over/unders. Betting over 145 points means in this case that a bettor would have to wager $108 to earn $100. Betting under 145 points would mean a bettors would earn $100 for every $112 risked.
Purdue Prop Bets
For those Purdue Boilermakers fans that have a particular favorite player, prop bets are a great way to show your support. Oddsmakers will also set lines on player statistics. Bettors then have the opportunity to guess whether those players will go over or under the set line to win money. Some popular prop bets include how many points a player will score, who will score first, how many rebounds a player gets, and many more. It is important to note, though, that you are not able to bet college player prop bets in the state of Indiana. You can bet Purdue props in other legal betting states.
Purdue Future Odds
If you like Purdue's odds to make the Final Four or win the NCAA Tournament, take a look at futures odds . A futures bet is wager for an event happening in the later in the season. Because a futures bet can be really hard to predict, the payouts are much higher than a typical wager. The Boilermakers are currently +200 to make the Final Four and +900 to win the NCAA Tournament.
