Florida Gators Betting Preview

The Gators snapped a three-game losing streak with a statement win over the Texas Longhorns.

However, they now have to take on an even tougher foe from the Lone Star State in the No. 5-ranked Texas A&M Aggies.

We saw last week that the Gators' recipe for success is to protect DJ Lagway long enough to get the ball to their playmakers on the outside, which include freshman Dallas Wilson. Wilson announced his presence with authority, as he caught six passes for 111 yards and found paydirt twice.

Repeating those results against the Aggies will be a challenge, as Texas A&M possesses an elite defensive line. The Aggies rank third nationally in sack rate, and their pressure has allowed their secondary to excel, ranking 20th in yards per pass allowed and 42nd in opponent completion percentage.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

As for the Aggies on the offensive side of the ball, they have ridden running back Le'Veon Moss to success as he's averaged 5.3 yards per carry.

However, Moss has been battling stomach issues during games, which has opened opportunities for Rueben Owens II, who has been explosive.

While we can gush over the Aggies' ground game, they are in for a test themselves as the Gators rank 42nd nationally in yards per rush allowed. The difference maker for the Aggies in this matchup has to be quarterback Marcel Reed.

Reed has a cannon and has proven he can stretch the field, ranking 16th nationally in yards per pass. The Gators have also given up their fair share of big plays through the air, ranking 79th nationally in yards per pass allowed despite ranking 29th in completion percentage.

Look for the Aggies to establish the run early and then try to beat the Gators over the top.

This matchup boasts two tremendous defenses, but we've seen this total rise since opening.

There is plenty of big-play potential in this matchup as both quarterbacks can sling it and have multiple weapons on the outside at their disposal.

Look for Lagway and Reed to go toe-to-toe in this one as the game sails over the total.

Pick: Over 46.5
