Frustration. Anger. Disappointment. You name it.
It’s been a trying season for the South Carolina Gamecocks, and you can see it whenever the camera pans to head coach Shane Beamer.
Quarterback LaNorris Sellers is a special talent, and even though he may stay another year in school, he has "NFL quarterback" written all over him.
The problem is, South Carolina’s offensive line is abysmal. It allows the second-most sacks per game, which may be problematic because Texas A&M’s defense averages the second-most sacks.
Either way, Sellers is an unbelievably hard player to take down no matter who’s rushing him, as he leads all power conference quarterbacks in broken tackles.
Overall, I’m pretty bearish on South Carolina’s run game, especially since leading rusher Rahsul Faison averages only 4.3 yards per carry. You can likely attribute that to the dreadful offensive line, which creates holes in the trench for all the wrong reasons.
But really, the Gamecocks' bread and butter is their defensive line, with studs in Dylan Stewart and Bryan Thomas Jr. on the edges. Stewart has continued to build a resume as one of the most elite pass-rushers in the country.
In addition to its prowess on the edge, South Carolina has also become one of the best teams in preventing explosive runs.
Texas A&M Aggies
Mike Elko’s squad has been unbeatable — literally.
With an undefeated record and a mark of No. 3 in the College Football Playoff rankings, you’d be hard-pressed to find a program clicking more than A&M.
Quarterback Marcel Reed has been fantastic in his first season as a full-time starter, racking up 2,193 passing yards to go along with 19 touchdowns and six interceptions through the air. He has also added 378 rushing yards and six scores on the ground.
He has helped the Aggies to rank 41st in Passing Success Rate with dynamo wide receivers Mario Craver and KC Concepcion.
Defensively, A&M has been exceptional throughout, but it tends to give up more points than it would like, ranking 37th in scoring defense.
The star of the show has been Cashius Howell, who leads the SEC with 10.5 sacks. He's only one full sack away from the FBS lead.
South Carolina vs Texas A&M NCAAF Week 12 Pick
We can talk all about how great Texas A&M has been all season because it surely has been.
But this spread is way too high.
We almost forget that South Carolina took it to fourth-ranked Alabama and nearly came out with a victory just a few weeks ago.
South Carolina's biggest deficit came by 24 against Vanderbilt early in the season, and since then, it hasn’t lost by 20. Even though Sellers will have to stare down Howell, he’s built like a truck and has been increasingly difficult to take down.
I don’t think A&M is invincible. The Aggies were in a fistfight with Arkansas a few weeks ago, where they won 45-42 in Fayetteville.
Now, it’s different playing this game in College Station versus playing in Columbia, but I wouldn’t count out this veteran Gamecock squad.
It’s the perfect opportunity for South Carolina to play spoiler against a conference foe aiming for an undefeated season.
