The New York Jets (2-5) and New England Patriots (1-6) will kick off the Sunday afternoon slate of NFL Week 8. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET from Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. The game will be broadcast on CBS and can be streamed on platforms like Paramount+ and YouTube TV.
The Jets are consensus 7-point favorites over the Patriots (Jets -7) with the game total set at 41. New York is -350 on the moneyline to win outright, while New England is +275 to pull off the upset.
New York lost 37-15 to the Steelers last week, its fourth straight loss. The Jets haven't scored more than 20 points in any of those games, averaging 15.25 points per contest. Aaron Rodgers has thrown 10 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 7 games this season. New England lost 32-16 to the Jaguars last week. Drake Maye threw two touchdowns, though, and has 5 touchdowns to 2 interceptions this season while completing 64.1% of his pass attempts.

Spread
Teams that play the week after an international game tend to start slowly in their following game. This is a get-right spot for the Jets offense (and defense), so I'm expecting a hot start and laying 3.5 points on New York in the first half.
If you wanted to bet the Jets over the entire game, though, road favorites are 16-3 since the start of Week 5.
Moneyline
I'm not recommending a bet on any moneyline picks for this game.
Over/Under
Experts Sean Koerner and Chris Raybon have this spread projected for 41 and 42 points, which is right in line with what books are posting. Instead of messing with some key numbers in the world of betting over/unders, I'll pass.
Jets vs. Patriots Betting Trends To Know

Jets vs. Patriots NFL Week 8 Preview
The trends don’t favor New York historically in this matchup, although you can point to a lot of things being different this time around.
For full context, though, the Jets are 2-7 against the spread (ATS) in their last nine games against the Patriots. That comes after winning and covering in these teams’ last two matchups. Overall, New York is 2-15 straight-up in its last 17 meetings with the Patriots.
Historically, Aaron Rodgers has dominated divisional opponents. He’s 55-33 (63%) ATS in his career against them and 48-26 (65%) as a favorite.
If there was ever going to be a get-right spot for the Jets, this is it. The Patriots defense ranks 30th in DVOA and while Drake Maye has shown some promise so far this season, he’s lost both of his starts by at least 16 points.
I’m not hugely interested in laying seven points on the Jets, though, so I’m going to get creative with my pick.
The Patriots played in London last week but didn’t take their bye this week. According to Action Network’s Evan Abrams, teams that have played with seven or fewer days of rest after an international game are 13-11 ATS. In 15 of those 24 games, though, they were tied or trailing at the end of the first quarter in their next game.
I’m tempted to say “Take the Jets in the first quarter,” but there’s too much uncertainty over just 15 minutes of play. Instead, I’ll focus my bet on the first-half spread.
In Maye’s two starts, the Patriots have scored seven and 10 points in the first half. This Jets defense is too talented to keep struggling like this and will be eager to bounce back against a rookie quarterback. I’m laying 3.5 points on New York to cover the first-half spread.
Pick: Jets 1H -3.5 (-115)
