Minnesota Vikings Odds, Bet Types, and Team History
The 2022-23 Vikings had a fantastic season, but everyone expected a step back the following season. We saw the Vikings regress due to injuries to their top offensive players.
Kirk Cousins suffered a torn Achilles, missing the final nine games. Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson missed seven games with a hamstring injury. All in all, it led to a 7-10 record without a playoff appearance.
It'll be a different look for Minnesota this season as the QB room features Sam Darnold and first-round pick JJ McCarthy. The Vikings also signed RB Aaron Jones from the rival Green Bay Packers. The receiving core features All-Pro Justin Jefferson and second-year wideout Jordan Addison.
We'll see if the overturned roster is enough for the Vikings to return to the postseason. They've got much more competition in the NFC North, as the Lions and Packers look like legit Super Bowl contenders,
Sportsbooks aren’t so bullish on the Vikings having a big season. DraftKings has their preseason over/under win total set at 6.5.
Minnesota gets its season going on Sept. 8 against the Giants.
Betting on the Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings Point Spreads
Betting point spreads are wagers based on the expectation that a team will win or lose by a certain number of points. Here’s an example:
- Cardinals +1.5 (+110)
- Vikings -1.5 (-110)
In this situation, the Cardinals are 1.5-point underdogs against the Vikings. If Minnesota wins the game by two or more points, a $100 wager on the Vikings would come with a payout of $90.91. If Arizona won the game outright or lost by one point, the same $100 wager would net $110 plus the original $100 for a total of $210.

Minnesota Vikings Over/Unders
Over/under, also called point total, is a wager placed on the combined scoring of a single game. Bookmakers come up with a number, and you can bet on the over or — you guessed it — the under. Here’s how it works:
Let's say the Colts play the Vikings, and the over/under is set at 46 points. A wager on the over would require Indianapolis and Minnesota to score 47 points or more to win. Betting the under is an expectation that the two teams would score 45 or fewer points. It's also possible for the bet to push, which would happen if the game finished with exactly 46 points scored.

Minnesota Vikings Moneyline
Moneylines are a betting term that can sound like jargon, but they're one of the most simple wagers in all of betting. They're simply bets on which team will win the game. The margin of victory is irrelevant with moneyline bets: A bet on the Vikings' moneyline would pay out cash regardless of a last-second win or a 40-point blowout.
The odds can be weird at first, though. Think of them in terms of $10 increments: If the Vikings moneyline were set at -150 -- indicating they were the favorites (see the minus sign) -- then you'd have to pay $15 for every $10 you want to win. It's the opposite for underdogs: A Vikings moneyline of +160 would pay out a profit of $16 for every $10 wagered.

Minnesota Vikings Props
Player props are wagers on a single player, and they're tied to a single stat found in the box score for a game or even the whole season. These are among the most fun to bet on, especially if you're already playing fantasy football and like the player-specific focus it offers. Check out a hypothetical example below:
- Justin Jefferson receiving yards: 1275.5
In this example, a bettor will wager on whether or not Jefferson will record for more or less than 1275.5 yards throughout the regular season.
Vikings Futures
Futures are somewhat similar to prop bets in that both are monitored throughout the season. Except most future bets are focused on end-of-season success. Examples of futures are:
- Minnesota Vikings odds to win the NFC North
- Minnesota Vikings odds to win the NFC
- Minnesota Vikings odds to win the Super Bowl
- Justin Jefferson's odds to win Offensive Player of the Year
If you’re confident that the Vikings will win the NFC North or have a deep playoff run in them, this is the place to be. For a full list of NFL futures, click or tap here.
