Fever vs. Wings Preview
I'm betting the Dallas moneyline in tonight's contest.
The Wings had their best game of the season when they beat the Liberty by a score of 92-82 last weekend, and then they managed to keep things incredibly close all the way through the closing seconds in the following matchup against Atlanta, losing by a final score of 88-85 on a game-winner by Naz Hillmon.
However, Dallas should see Maddy Siegrist return to the lineup for tonight's matchup. So, the Wings should be able to go 10-deep with really solid players in the rotation.
Haley Jones has been a revelation for the Wings. She's one of those role players who really jumps off the screen, and somebody that may matter more to the spread than you might think.
The Wings are strong with Jones on the court and struggle mightily whenever she's off.
That's been the deal since Jones got to Dallas. The Wings are +8.6 with her on the court. That's borderline New York Liberty status. Really impressive stuff.
On the other hand, they are also around -8 with her off the court.
Now, a lot of that was before Jones came to town. A lot of that was when she was injured. However, the point is the Wings' 16-point differential between her being on and off the court is truly an elite tier.
Again, there's some noise around the fact that the Wings started the season 1-11, but that was before Jones joined the team. They are 7-9 since that point.
Jim Turvey's Fever vs. Wings Prediction
The Fever have been solid without Caitlin Clark. They are 15-12 on the season, and their record with Clark almost matches their record without her at this point.
The Fever have found a nice little groove here, but I don't think they are five points better than the Wings without Clark.
I could definitely see the Wings winning this game at home as they try to linger around in the playoff hunt.
If the Wings really do wind up making a push, they could make things interesting down the stretch.
