He’s been used so freaking weirdly this season, with random bullpen appearances. But what we know is that he was on the IL and missed 17 days, came back and threw 37 pitches in 2.1 IP, then went 65 pitches on three days rest in 3 IP. Now on four days rest, and not having pitched more than 75 pitches in a month, I project him at about 80-85 pitches (about 21 batters). Striking out 6 of 22 batters would represent a 27% K%, when he’s at 24% this season… and this is a below avg matchup. The Mets are at 21% this season vs righties (20% over the L14 days). Even if my projections are off, there’s still room for the Mets to stay under. I have him at about 4.8.
