The Toronto Blue Jays and San Francisco Giants continue their three-game interleague series on Wednesday night at Oracle Park. The starting pitching matchup is a good one as first-time All-Star Logan Webb of the Giants squares off against former All-Star Chris Bassitt of the Jays.

Webb and Bassitt feature prominently in this Blue Jays vs Giants same-game parlay, as I'm targeting the right-handers in the strikeout and walk prop markets, respectively.

Blue Jays vs Giants Same-Game Parlay: Wednesday picks

  • Logan Webb 5+ Strikeouts (-165)
  • Chris Bassitt 2+ Walks (-160)

Parlay Odds: +148 (DraftKings)

All-Star Logan Webb toes the slab for the Giants on Wednesday night. He's put together another formidable season atop San Francisco’s rotation, pitching to a 3.09 ERA.

While not a traditional strikeout pitcher (103 strikeouts in 119 1/3 innings), Webb has cleared this line in 15 of 19 starts, including each of his last 12 outings.

Part of the reason for his consistency is that the Giants rely on Webb to provide them length. The rest of the rotation has been marred by injury, and the team has frequently had to rely on openers and bulk relievers.

Webb has been stellar at home this season, with a 2.13 ERA (and 2.36 ERA since 2021). The Blue Jays are not only striking out at a higher rate lately (25% over the last two weeks versus righties), but they also have struggled to hit (85 wRC+ and .645 OPS in the same splits).

I have Webb clearing five strikeouts within his first 22 batters faced.

Bassitt has registered 41 walks in 102 1/3 innings this season, with at least two free passes issued in 14 of 18 outings.

The Giants have been patient at the plate, with a 9.2% walk rate against righties over the last month (seventh highest). And over the course of the season, San Francisco’s hitters have the seventh-lowest chase rate (per Statcast, via Fangraphs).

Betting on walks can be highly variable, but Bassitt has remained consistent in clearing this line. In a plus spot (if you’re rooting for bases on balls), I have Bassitt walking two of his first 21 hitters faced.
