I've got two strikeout props I'm eyeing tonight in an MLB strikeout parlay.

My bet features two of the elite strikeout pitchers in MLB tonight — Tarik Skubal and Chase Burns.

Read below for my favorite MLB parlay tonight, Friday, August 8, 2025.

My MLB Strikeout Parlay Tonight

  • Chase Burns 10+ Strikeouts
  • Tarik Skubal 10+ Strikeouts
  • Parlay Odds: +674 (Fanatics)

The Tarik Skubal side of this parlay is, of course, incredibly square. Skubal's strikeout total tonight is set at 8.5 and juiced to the over. I don't know what the highest pitcher strikeout prop has been set at in recent history, but this has to be up there.

Given that, we need to get a little creative to find value. I'm not very interested in betting Skubal to get nine strikeouts at -150 or so given how many things outside of Skubal's and our control can happen, whether it be because of weather, injury, or just poor luck.

Skubal's matchup tonight, to be clear, is insanely appealing. The Angels are the most strikeout-prone team in baseball particularly against left-handed pitching, where they are tops in the league in K rate by a wide margin.

Tonight that strikeout-prone lineup gets to face the best pitcher in baseball, who happens to be left-handed, and arguably the most elite strikeout artist in the game.

Where this bet gets interesting is the other leg, which is obviously the more risky side of these two bets. I've been all-in on Burns since he got called up and we got insane value early in his career when sportsbooks were pricing his K prop in the 4.5 to 5.5 range. Those days are gone, though, as tonight's total is 7.5 and juiced to the over.

Burns' last start was really unfortunate for him as Cincy tried to use him in the disastrous Speedway Classic that MLB tried to stage between the Reds and Braves in Bristol, Tenn. After completing his warmup, the game went into a rain delay, and Terry Francona admitted during a live interview that this was going to hinder Burns' usage that night. It ended up not mattering as the skies opened up after just an inning, limiting Burns to that lone inning and two strikeouts.

Prior to that game, Burns struck out exactly 10 batters in three straight starts against the Nationals, Dodgers, and Rockies. Tonight he faces a Pirates team that sports the sixth-highest K rate against right-handed pitching. They're also a light-hitting team just in general, so the chances of Burns getting knocked around early, limiting his strikeout upside, are lessened.

Betting the overs on both Burns and Skubal tonight are surely going to be a popular proposition. Instead of eating the juice there, I'm going to bet on both of these elite arms' upside.

Betting Skubal and Burns both to get 10+ strikeouts is paying out around the +600 range at most sportsbooks and that's a worthy dart-throw to be able to root for some fun arms tonight.
