A quick refresher if you aren’t familiar with PrizePicks: you can combine up to five different player squares to payout up to 10x your entry.
You can do a Flex Play or a Power Play. A Flex Play gives you lesser odds, but you can win money if you do not nail every pick. A Power Play is all-or-nothing.
Here’s how I would approach Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets.
What is PrizePicks? A daily fantasy operator — meaning they’re available in more states (30) than sports betting is! — PrizePicks offers a unique opportunity for action on player squares in which you parlay two or more plays together.
Bam Adebayo Less Than 3.5 Free Throws Made
Adebayo had a monster Game 1 with 26 points and 13 rebounds, but it took him 25 field goal attempts to do so. He shot zero free throws, which is unbelievable on 25 field goal attempts. As a team, the Heat only shot two free throws the entire game. The Nuggets were only whistled for eight personal fouls due to the Heat's lack of aggressiveness.
In the postseason, Adebayo's free throw attempts and makes are both down from the regular season. He is shooting around 80% from the charity stripe but is only making 3.1 shots at the line per game. Adebayo has hit the under on this projection in four of his last five games, including two games where he did not even attempt a single free throw. Adebayo should fall below this projection yet again in Game 2.
Aaron Gordon Less Than 0.5 3-Pointers Made
Outside of his three made 3-pointers in Game 4 against the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals, Gordon hasn't made a 3-pointer in five of his last six games. In Game 1 he only attempted one 3-pointer as he did all of his damage in the paint by scoring 16 points while shooting 7-of-10 from the floor as he took full advantage of his size and strength inside.
Gordon isn't afraid to shoot from distance, but sitting in the dunker spot, his first look is crashing the glass and finishing around the rim. He also does a great job of setting flare screens for the several Nuggets shooters. We may need to sweat one or two 3-point attempts tonight, but fading Gordon as a 3-pointers made has been a smart move recently.
