Northwestern vs Indiana Betting Preview

I project Northwestern as just a 2.4-point underdog in this neutral-court battle with Indiana, so I’m happy to bet the Wildcats at +5.5 or better, representing a minimum three-point difference between my projection and the market.

McGrath's CBB Projections for Wednesday Image

The Wildcats won at Assembly Hall just a few short weeks ago, with superstar scoring forward Nick Martinelli dropping 38 points on 12-for-21 shooting. The Hoosiers simply didn’t have the size to stop him, as he continually booty-balled his way to points in the middle of the court. I expect more of the same in the rematch.

While Indiana has the necessary spacing, shooting, and ball-movement to punish Northwestern’s compact post-doubling shell, the Hoosiers have to prove they can do it for 40 minutes away from Bloomington — they shot just 30% from 3 on the road this season.

Ultimately, I’ll lean on my numbers and take the two possessions in a battle between two teams I don’t entirely trust.

My Pick: Northwestern +5.5 or Better
