Late-night college football is always a treat, and the Montana State Bobcats (5-1) visit the Sacramento State Hornets (5-1) this week in a clash of FCS titans.

The parity in the Big Sky is something to note this season, and both teams have been among the best in the conference. This matchup will be an excellent indicator of the actual class of the conference.

Heading into the week, Montana State is the No. 2-ranked team in FCS play, and Sacramento State is right behind at No. 3. This is a must-watch game if you're an FCS fan.

Montana State Bobcats

Montana State has looked incredible this season, with its lone loss coming in a road game against South Dakota State.

The Bobcats have rattled off four straight wins since then as they have scored 48.5 points per game and allowed just 15.3 points per game.

Quarterback Sean Chambers has gotten it done despite a run-first offensive scheme, but he has also been a key part of the Bobcats' rushing attack. The Bobs have thrived in the running game of late by averaging a ridiculous 10.3 yards per carry over their past two games.

Montana State could be the best FCS offense in the country. Mix that in with an excellent defense over the past several weeks, and you have a team that any opponent will struggle against.

Sacramento State Hornets

The Hornets have not had the same type of convincing blowouts as the Bobcats, but they have still been terrific.

The two-headed monster of Kaiden Bennett at quarterback and Ezra Moleni in the backfield has proven to be a tall task for opposing defenses to handle.

Sac State is one of the top-ranked FCS programs this season for a reason, and it put together a surprising 30-23 road victory over Stanford — and last year's Hornets head coach Troy Taylor — five weeks ago.

The Hornets' lone loss came against Idaho on the road, but they have rumbled back for a pair of victories over Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado.

This will be a significant test for Sacramento State, but it benefits from playing this one at home.

Betting Pick & Prediction

This is poised to be one of the best FCS matchups of the season and is a must-watch for the Big Sky race. Montana State and Sacramento State are excellent programs, and we now have the privilege of watching how they perform against one another.

While most signs point to the Bobcats being the superior team due to their resumé of blowout wins, this is a Sac State home game, which cannot be discounted.

Regardless, I lean toward the Bobcats for this one. My projections have Montana State as a 6.4-point favorite, and depending on the line, we're looking to pounce.

Pick: Montana State -5.5 or Better
