Owls 2025 Schedule & Betting Odds
Florida Atlantic Owls 2025 Season Preview
The Florida Atlantic Owls head into the season after relieving Tom Herman of his head coaching duties after a disappointing 2-8 start to last season. Zach Kittley will look to re-energize the program back to its 2017-2019 form under now Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.
The last two winning seasons (both conference titles) were accomplished under Lane Kiffin in 2017 and 2019 while Florida Atlantic was in Conference USA.
Along with a new head coach, the Owls will look to revamp their offense. Kittley is known for unleashing Bailey Zappe at Western Kentucky and he'll be tapping back into the Hilltoppers' well to rekindle some of that magic.
Former Western Kentucky quarterback Caden Veltkamp was a huge get in the transfer portal for the Owls. If he's able to generate similar production at FAU, Veltkamp should be considered one of the best signal callers among the Group of Five.
On the other side of the ball, FAU will have plenty of new faces. Cameron Goggins (16 tackles in 2024) is the most experienced returner in the secondary. The Owls will be relying heavily on the transfer portal as they got Derrick Rogers from Purdue and Dillon Williams from UTEP.
Florida Atlantic is rated tenth for the 2025 AAC Championship odds. It’s still going to take more time for the Owls to rise into a conference contender.
However, with a relatively weaker schedule, Florida Atlantic has a prime opportunity to build momentum with a winning record and potential bowl game appearance.
Florida Atlantic Owls Point Spreads
“Covering the spread” refers to a bet on how much a team will win or lose by. A typical FAU spread might look like this:
- FAU +14.5 (-110)
- Maryland -14.5 (-110)
If FAU loses 28-24, bettors backing the Owls cover the spread because the margin of defeat is less than 15 points. Maryland bettors would need a 15-point win or more to cash.
Florida Atlantic Owls Over/Unders
Over/unders are bets on the total points scored in a game. Oddsmakers may set FAU’s game total at 59.5, for example. If the final score is 35-24 (59 points), the under wins, while 38-24 (62 points) would result in an over. Ties can result in refunds.
Florida Atlantic Owls Moneylines
Moneyline odds reflect a team’s chance to win outright. For instance, FAU might be listed at +450 as an underdog versus Maryland (-625). A $10 FAU moneyline bet would return $45 if the Owls pull off the upset, while Maryland backers would need to risk $62.50 to profit $10.
Florida Atlantic Owls Props
Player props allow bets on individual performance stats, such as passing yards, rushing yards, or touchdowns. These markets are more limited in college football and vary by state, but FAU’s top offensive players could become popular prop targets once available.
Florida Atlantic Owls Futures
Futures bets cover outcomes that settle at the end of the season. FAU’s odds to win the AAC or achieve a certain number of wins are common futures bets. Other possibilities include individual awards or milestones for standout players, giving fans a season-long engagement with betting markets.
