Blazers 2025 Schedule & Betting Odds
UAB Blazers 2025 Season Preview
The UAB Blazers enter the 2025 season under the leadership of head coach Trent Dilfer, who is aiming to revitalize the program following a challenging 2024 campaign. With a roster featuring a blend of experienced players and promising newcomers, the Blazers are poised to make strides in the American Athletic Conference (AAC).
Offensive Outlook
The offense will be led by senior quarterback Jalen Kitna, who started the final eight games of the 2024 season, completing 62% of his passes for 2,209 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He'll be supported by a dynamic backfield featuring senior running back Jevon Jackson, known for his explosive playmaking abilities. The receiving corps includes sophomore wide receiver Corri Milliner and junior wide receiver Kaleb Brown, who will look to make an impact in the passing game.
Defensive Outlook
Defensively, the Blazers aim to improve upon a 2024 season where they allowed nearly 497 yards per game, including 316 yards through the air. The defensive line features players like sophomore defensive tackle Kaleb Brown and senior linebacker Devin Hightower, who are expected to bolster the pass rush. In the secondary, cornerbacks Perry Fisher and Delvon Gulley will play pivotal roles in improving pass coverage.
Schedule Overview
The 2025 schedule presents a challenging mix of non-conference and AAC matchups. The season opener against Alabama State on August 28 sets the tone for the year. Subsequent games against Navy and Tennessee will test the Blazers' resilience early in the season. AAC play begins with a critical home game against Army on October 4. Other key conference games include matchups against Memphis, Florida Atlantic, and UConn.
Betting on UAB
There are plenty of ways to bet UAB football this season, including futures — like college football win totals and AAC Championship odds. Then, there are game-by-game markets, like moneylines, spreads and totals (also known as the over/under).
Betting UAB's Moneyline
How does a moneyline work? Here’s how it might look at a sportsbook like DraftKings or FanDuel:
- UAB -250
- South Florida +200
The "-" sign means a team is favored, while the "+" sign means a team is the underdog distinguish the favorite. In this scenario, UAB would be the favorite.
Odds can be understood more clearly if you think in terms of betting $10 or $100. A wager on the Blazers' side means every $250 bet nets $100 in profit (plus the $250 stake back). The underdog is different, however. A $100 wager on the South Florida moneyline would profit $200 (plus the $100 stake back).
Most bettors won't bet the moneyline on a large price like -900, but many people create parlays using the moneylines of favorites. Use our parlay calculator to get an understanding of what the payouts will look like when building a parlay. You can also add bets to your betslip on our college football odds page to automatically get the best parlay price.
Betting UAB's Spread
Betting the spread is similar to a team's moneyline. The exception, though, is that the spread is the great equalizer when it comes to sports betting. Even elite teams — the Alabamas and Oregons of the world — are expected to go around .500 against the spread because the spread is based on each team's ability, injuries and recent form.
- UAB -3.5 (-110)
- Rice +3.5 ( -110)
If you bet UAB -3.5, that means the Blazers would have to win by four points or more. On the other side, if you bet Rice +3.5, you would need the Owls to lose by three points or fewer or win the game outright.
In this instance, you would also be paying -110 juice, meaning you must wager $1.10 for every $1 you want to win. If you’re unfamiliar with calculating odds, read up on how to use American odds or use our odds calculator.
Betting UAB's Totals
The third big way to bet UAB in a single game would be the total — also known as the over/under. The total is simply how many points both teams combine for in a game.
- Over: 45.5 (-115)
- Under: 45.5 (-105)
A bet on the over would need the final score of both teams to add up to 46 points or more. However, a bet on the under would need the final score to add up to 44 points or less.
There’s a difference in payout with the over and under in this game as well. In this game, you must wager $1.15 for every $1 you want to win if you bet the over and $1.05 for every $1 you want to win if you bet the under.
UAB Player Props & More
College football player props are only available in some states, and that list continues to get smaller as more college betting scandals take place.
If college player props are available in your state, you may find markets like yardage totals or touchdown props. However, U.S. sportsbooks will offer far fewer markets for college players than they will for the NFL for a variety of reasons. The markets for player props also tend to be more limited for smaller games, like your typical Group of Five matchups.
If sports betting isn’t legal in your state or college props aren’t offered, platforms like PrizePicks exist. It’s regulated like DFS and allows you to pick multiple player statistics to be more or less than the listed number.
