Caitlin Clark will make her home debut for the Indiana Fever tonight as they host the defending Eastern Conference champion New York Liberty at 7 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
Clark's WNBA debut on Tuesday was, by most indicators, a disappointment. The rookie superstar did score 20 points, but that went along with 10 turnovers and an abysmal 5-for-15 shooting from the floor.
From a betting perspective, if you faded Clark, you made out quite well. She made under bettors sweat a bit with her point total, but in scoring 20, went just under her closing total of 20.5. Clark also went under on rebounds (zero) and assists (three), while cashing the over on her 3-pointers prop as she made four to cash the over at 3.5.
Props are out for tonight's game, and bettors will once again be eyeing the totals on Clark's over/under props for points, rebounds, assists and made 3-pointers.
Clark's over/under on total points scored tonight is once again set at 20.5. The juice on the over is 102, while the under is -128 at FanDuel.
Clark's 20.5-point total is tied for the highest mark in the game with superstar and reigning WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart, who also has an over/under of 20.5 points.
In the rebounds market, Clark's over/under has been set at 3.5 rebounds, and as of writing, the juice at FanDuel is -114 to both the over and the under.
In the assists market, Clark's over/under has been set at 4.5 assists. The juice on this total is -160 to the over and +124 to the under, as of writing.
Finally, there's the 3-pointers made market, which is the only one in which she cashed her over in Tuesday's game against Connecticut. In this market, her over/under has been set at 3.5 3-point field goals made. The juice on this prop is -188 to the over and +140 to the under as of this writing.
It's worth noting also that in this particular matchup, Clark will be going up against arguably the greatest 3-point shooter in WNBA history in the Liberty's Sabrina Ionescu. Every player in this game has a 3-pointer over/under set at 1.5 or lower except for Clark and Ionescu, both of whom come in at 3.5.
Caitlin Clark Prop Picks Thursday in Liberty vs. Fever
Jim Turvey: I'm actually looking to the plus side of Clark's props tonight! The books seem to have overreacted a bit to her first game, especially in terms of her playmaking. I have her projected around 6.5 assists per game standard, and the books are hanging 4.5 tonight.
She also scored 20 points on an off shooting night, in large part because she had an absolutely insane 40% Usage Rate in game one — that's basically the rate Iowa used her in college.
I don't think that number will sustain, but it does make me reassess my blind fades, and when added to the fact that the books reacted by dropping her points prop by two whole points from where they opened it in game one, along with the potentially easier matchup in this game, I like her points Over 20.5.
