The Dallas Wings continue their five-game road trip when they head to Los Angeles to take on the Sparks.

Dallas, coming off an impressive 107-92 victory in Phoenix over the Mercury, is in a tricky spot as it gets set to play the second leg of a back-to-back.

As for the Sparks, they'll have an extra day of rest following a difficult home loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

Los Angeles took an 11-point lead into the third quarter, but Indiana clawed its way back for a 78-73 win.

The Sparks are just 1-3 on the year, with their lone victory (70-68) coming by the slimmest of margins against a 0-6 Mystics team.

Los Angeles will likely face a much stiffer test with Dallas coming to town.

Dallas Wings

Dallas should be in good spirits heading into Sunday night after snapping a two-game losing streak. The Wings had their best game thus far, going over the century-mark for the first time.

It was a balanced performance, with 52 points in the paint and 10-of-20 shooting from beyond the arc.

Phoenix is a quality team that ranks fourth in offensive efficiency, averaging 104.3 points per 100 possessions.

While Phoenix certainly has a scoring threat with Kahleah Copper, the Wings have their version with Arike Ogunbowale.

Ogunbowale dropped a 40-piece against the Mercury to lead all scorers. Notably, 19 of her points came in the final ten minutes.

Her aggressiveness ensured that Dallas would not lose a third straight game, in which it had the lead entering the fourth quarter.

If this is a sign that the Wings found a way to correct their fourth-quarter woes, Dallas could finally go on a bit of a run.

Los Angeles Sparks

Los Angeles is probably my favorite team to watch because of how it competes in every game. The rookie forward Cameron Brink plays with unbridled enthusiasm, sometimes celebrating her defensive plays more than when she scores a basket.

Brink's teammate in the frontcourt, Dearica Hamby, is off to quite a start, averaging 21 points through four games. Her previous career high was 13.0 points in 2020 with the Las Vegas Aces.

However, despite promising starts from Brink and Hamby, there are some clear warning signs with this Sparks frontcourt.

For example, they're struggling to control the glass, ranking ninth in rebounding with 33.5 per game.

More importantly, they're dead last in offensive rebounding (4.8), averaging 2.2 fewer boards than the 11th-ranked Mercury.

Thus, the Wings play the two worst offensive-rebounding teams in back-to-back games. It's worth noting that Dallas ranks second in offensive rebounding with 13.3 per game.

The Wings lead the league in second-chance points (21.0), which means the Sparks could have to overcome quite a bit in this game, considering they rank 11th in offensive efficiency.

Betting Pick & Prediction

While Los Angeles is currently sixth in defensive efficiency (99.7 rating), you have to be somewhat concerned about its chances against some of the better offensive teams in the league.

One of the goals this season for Sparks head coach Curt Miller was for his team to play with an up-tempo style.

However, playing with more tempo is difficult when you struggle to control the glass because your opponent is more likely to dictate the pace.

Based on these findings, all signs point to the Wings in this matchup.

With Dallas laying only two points at DraftKings, we'd only have to lay -130 to back the visitors on the moneyline.
